The modelling quality on all of these looks excellent! I'm looking forward to seeing them released.

Something's a bit out of place here.

I think I got the game around August or September of 2009. The game was still in V12 but changed to V13 only a few weeks or so later.
I would have to say the $20 I spent on Blockland was probably the best investment in a game I made, since I've gotten over 10 years of continual playing out of it. Can't say that for many games.

I briefly hosted a LAN server about two years ago for a day with two other people, I don't know of anyone else who used to use them.

It was interesting to see how it differed from single player and regular servers though. I had hatmod enabled on the LAN server and it couldn't keep track of which player was using which hat, whenever someone died they would respawn with whatever hat had last been put on by anyone. I also remember players could kill each other and get killed without having a minigame enabled. Everyone was treated as an admin too.
Was an interesting experience anyway, it was a lot like singleplayer but with multiple people.

I don't understand why the ability to change names was removed? I could see a cool-down on how often names can be changed to prevent trolling, but the purpose of the BLID already helps identify users who have changed their names.
I'm glad that the game is still being supported after what happened, but removing the ability to change names seems like an unnecessary restriction unrelated to the BLID compromise or going Steam only.

On the topic of going Steam only, I am a bit concerned about the community.
I have a friend who has only played non-steam Blockland and is reluctant to make the switch now. It seems there were still a lot of non-steam users before this and I doubt he's the only one reluctant to switch. I hope this doesn't drive more people away from our already small community.

you dont need to enable client addons, they are always on
Yes, it's been a very long time since downloading a client addon and I had forgotten that they self enable so I didn't think to check that until after I had made the topic.

I hadn't thought of trying this since it has never been a problem before in my 10 years of playing this game, but I thought to check newly added but not enabled addons to see if they were causing issues. As it turns out, Client_Image2Brick was the issue. Removing it from my game fixed the problem.

Help / Steam Blockland crashes during server load as host
« on: July 20, 2019, 02:51:55 PM »
I'm not sure what is causing this, I have never had this happen before. I have been away and haven't played BL for awhile and it was fine until I got back and tried to play.
When I launch my server it loads as it usually would until it gets to music, where the game then crashes. I removed my music folder to see if that was the issue and the game still crashed there, single player won't work either. I haven't gotten any new addons since I have come back.
I tried hosting a server with my old non steam BL with the same addons and settings, and the server worked so I don't think it's an addon issue.

I usually play with Steam BL and I can't use it to host my own server or even play in single player, this is a very frustrating issue. If anybody knows what might be the issue I would appreciate any help.

I would like to inform you that my client EvilMasked (223153) is planning to sue you for defamation of character as you are slandering this corporation with a name bearing a resemblance to his.

yo idk what happened but this worked fine on my server for a bit, but now having it enabled causes players to get stuck at the end of loading datablocks.

10/10 otherwise
I have this same issue, with this train enabled everyone gets stuck on loading datablocks.

College has been done for a couple years now. The reasons are personal problems. I won't go into the details here.

but I will tell you I'm working on vehicle stuff again!
I'm glad to see you are back!
I like the wheel you posted a week ago, it reminds me of late 80s or early 90s Chrysler products with the pentastar looking thing in it.

use minimum shaders or turn on download textures
The trolley stays black on every shader level, and I have download textures enabled already although I'm not sure it matters since it's my own server that this is happening on and it isn't a dedicated server.
