People who go to the constitution to promote their beliefs in total free speech are ignoring the fact that people also have a freedom to happiness, and I happen to be among the people who feel my happiness encroached upon every time someone calls me or someone else a friend or monday or any other various discriminatory slurs.

Get over it. The freedom to speech is an absolute. Censoring speech is immature, corrupt, and unethical. I could understand not wanting to hear children say racial slurs and whatnot, but you're loving 18. Grow the forget up.

By the way, we don't have a "freedom to happiness". Did you ever read The Constitution? It's the framework of the government. You're thinking of the Bill Of Rights, and even then, there is no "freedom to happiness" in the Bill Of Rights. You're also thinking of the Declaration Of Independence, and the quote is:

You being called names is not an encroachment on your happiness on any grand scale, your rights are not being violated, you are not being harmed, and the fact that you just tried to reference that document over that trivial of a matter is insulting. You're one of those types of people that would sacrifice your civil liberties just to feel a little more comfortable, a little more safe. Enablers for unethical organizations like the TSA.

Though I did KNOW that it wasn't actually part of the constitution, and I wasn't by any means saying your happiness is a guaranteed right.

You can't just 'ban' people from saying anything that could be considered offensive, not in a modern country, anyhow.
God forbid everytime someone posts "monday" on 4chan we need to get the FBI involved.

"Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" is in the Declaration of Independence.
The original version of the DoI was "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Property" but they changed it towards the end.

Regardless, you have the right to pursue happiness. If it makes someone happy to call you a friend then they can do it. Being called a friend is a verbal assault and if it's left at that you have the right to pursue happiness by not giving a forget. Persistent verbal harassment, (via stalking, etc) is an infringement upon your rights to privacy and the right to pursue happiness, likewise, if it makes you happy to torture someone with a pair of pliers you're again infringing their rights to pursue your own and that's no good.

People forget they can turn off the TV. You don't have to have the government protect you.
