some pro tips
1. Use hammer to break stuff like walls, platforms, or anything cosmetic
they can also break open the heart containers you find in caves

2. place torches by left clicking with torch item, remove them by right clicking with torch items

3. doors can only be placed if the space you place them is exactly 3 blocks high

4. use walls to keep monsters from spawning in your house

5. heart containers can increase your health

6. you can't place blocks in areas with grass growing, you have to clear the grass

Not really, if you save up ten of them you can combine them to make a mana star, which raises your maximum amount of mana you can hold at one time to 20.

Shooting stars are not that rare, but you should still pick them up.
If you collect 10 of them, you can combine them to form an item that boosts your mana

mana is used for some higher end spells/items/weapons
