You'll have to beat a boss.
I don't know if you can find any stuff in normal chests that's better than gold.

How come I can't beat the twins or the destroyer with Mythril Mage armour? I use Wings, Spectre Boots, Cross Necklace, Star Cloak, Mana Flower and Crystal Storm! What am I missing!? D:
