The parts have no assurance of working together, which is why I'd go with a pre-built. I'd like incompatibility to be a refundable aspect, instead of extra costs for replacement.Help getting a PC that can run Portal 2 and such whilst not being over $500? (Maybe a few dollars over)Edit: I just realized: Ethan didn't include a Sound card in his set up, huh? Dang it. This is far too complicated.
They work together. If you don't trust me, I'll send someone like Inverted to this topic. Also, 99% of motherboards include inbuilt 8 channel sound (7.1). The last time I had to buy a sound card for a built was 1998 lol.
Call newegg.???Profit!
I'm calling Backup.
hiGet an HD103SJ. Also if you managed to find Windows for cheaper you could be able to afford a Phenom II x4.

I don't really like to skimp on the PSU or mobo though.
If you were to swap the above build's Motherboard and RAM for the below ones, it'd be $10 more, but well worth it for the better brand motherboard.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157176http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226176
