edit: i don't really understand the use of a jet...ya it's ok for destroying vehicles, IF you're a good pilot that is and if you have the right weapons to destroy them with like the rocket pods or guided missiles

It's a jet unlock which shortens the time it takes to lock on with heatseekers or guided missiles.

I. Love. Beam scanning. Ask TheArmyGuy how much I love it Because he isn't very fond of me when I hop into a jet with beam scanning...but I still love that pro tank-killer-machine-man.
  Also, got my first Recon Service Medal! wooloolooloolooloo! That's 30 hours of running around in the Recon class. I need 3 more hours for Jets and Attack Helicopters and I get the service Medals for them too.
