Indeed. Even more fun is becoming a necromancer, decapitating people and raising their heads. Army of almost impossible to hit chattering teeth in a snap.

Also, there's this one unlucky guy who got bitten during the fight...

Strength, Agility, Toughness, GM Wrestler

Basically break limbs and laugh.

I have a dwarf in Fortress mode who, after an unfortunately incident with a jabberer and a door I forgot was locked, has lost both arms and legs, and has a torn outer brain.

He's still alive, and somehow hauling bituminous coal down a hallway.

Does it really work to just ignore all other skills? I thought you were supposed to actually put points into things like toughness and stuff.

1) Be demigod
2) Set Strength to max
3) Set Toughness to max
4) Set Agility to max
5) Choose a specialism, and make it GM
6) Take off a GM point or two and put on swimming if you want to live in water

All the pros know you can just take 30 minutes and get up to the level of swimming required to not die.

Invest all your skills in kicker and play through as Jacky Chan.

Swimming goes up incredibly fast.  I would be surprised if it took THAT long.

With no points in swimming you can only move 7 spaces before you die. Meaning you need to alt move in and out of the water a ton.

forget water and forget swimming it always freezes just as you're having awesome river battles with fish

I wish there was DF for the iPad. Believe it or not it would work control wise.

Are you kidding?
Dwarf fortress is controlled completely by your keyboard.

It wouldn't work processor wise lol.
DF is ridiculously intensive on your processor, the ipads processor is stuff by normal PC standards 5 years ago. To be expected from a handheld device anyway. But it wouldn't work.

Not exactly. Touchscreen works. Also, if the iPad uses both GPU and CPU, and uses 2D mode, I'm reasonably sur it would work for 5year gens.

I can promise you it wouldn't work.
And there is no using the GPU for anything besides rendering ASCII (btw the gpu is integrated on the processor). The ipads processor is stuff. It's on par with some android cell phones, and that's not an exaggeration. Dwarf fortress makes modern gaming PCs struggle, easily. I'm sure it's going to run just fine on a cell phone.
