Don't fight on a cliff.

Don't fight on a cliff.
Yeah. It's not a good idea to fight near a murky pool, either.

Bad things happen.

Whay aren't my dwarves cleaning up the corpses?
I have a refuse pile set up. I don't want Miasma to form.

what can I do about all this stone building up?

I don't have much room for stockpiling at my elevation level and don't like sending my dwarfs off screen where I can't see them whilst monitoring other things.

Corpses go in a "corpse" stockpile.

Build a bridge, raise it, set a garbage dump zone over it then order stone to be dumped. Lower the bridge to smash them out of existence.

To rephrase by corpses I meant the remains of critter that my cats kill. In the tutorial I watched they said that they go into refuse piles.

Vermin remains go to refuse, yeah. They should be hauled out there unless they're outside already.

Trying to learn this game is overwhelming :C

how can I make an underground farm when there aren't any caves with water nearby?

Underground soil. You only need mud if it's on solid rock.

Also, there's some button you can press to bring up options (try "o") and then "refuse" (r). There should be an option to make dwarves gather outside refuse too.

press o on the menu and you can give them refuse orders

Anybody know how to transfer a save from on game file to the next?

Also are save files universal? Like a save file from a pc will work on a mac?

Build a mason and a mechanic building. Have the mechanic build a few mechanisms and the mason make a floodgate. Make a tunnel to any water and before you dig through build a floodgate make a staircase going up and over the floodgate so your miners can escape. Then have them dig the last block. Connect the mechanisms to the floodgate and activate. Deactivate when you have water covering your farm area.
