It seems that it wasn't crashing because I was issuing to many orders, it just crashes when i resume the game.

DUN DUN DUN!

It's pretty upsetting considering I really enjoyed the area I was in.
It was heavily forested, dense other vegetation, warm temperature, it had clay, some soil, shallow metals, deep metals, and flux stone. No aquifers on that tile or any of the tiles in it's immediate area. It also had a river flowing nearby.

One of my dwarfs refuses to come back up from the mine to eat or drink.

Just be happy that the economy is broken.

Enjoy having +10 dwarfs die each year so they can get some money to keep the rent up.

i always live underground or in a mountain for some reason

forget walls i've got the whole world to protect me

of course i'll be forgeted when i get sieged, unless if i can fight off all of them with ballista's that are horribly placed

and i hate how all these damn thieves run away whenever my swordsdwarf tries to kill them :(

Make sure there's nothing blocking him.

This mountain is MY mountain. Those trees too.

I like to find places along a mountain wall where there is an indent. Then dig my home inside of the indent and later build walls shielding the indent for a first line of defense.

>storing rocks on the surface where a stockpile used to be
>*snicker*

How important would you guys say it is that I start my fortress near flux stone?

If you like the best weapons grade common metal (steel), important.

Yay. Got basic farms down, workshops up, beds set up.
What now? I'll probably start pumping out craft goods and such.

All i have is a creepy amount of gold. I need steel and iron.

Edit: Just found adamintine forget yeah.
