Author Topic: Dwarf Fortress Megathread! - Necro'd enough to count as a vampire  (Read 134271 times)

is it possible to learn necromancy on adventure mode? That looks so fun to do
It says you can learn the secrets. I don't know what that means though.

I wonder if you can make a necromancer in arena mode and then do all that stuff

You learn the secrets either from books or tablets etched with them. I don't know if you can find them in tombs or not, but I think you can find them in necromancer's towers.

EDIT: Every adventurer I make I take a few levels in Reader to make sure my guy isn't illiterate or something when I find a book ;-;

Try genning a new world. My first one works fine but my second one crashes when I talk to people for some reason...

My second one works. Also, I like how I was sent to fight something easy for my first quest rather than a bandit camp.

Yeah, townspeople keep sending me to kill meaningless, lone peasants who apparently have a tall kill list in lairs outside the town. I have no idea why, but each of those guys gives me 2 extra soldier slots so it's cool.

The raised ambushes are absolutely loving ridiculous. I got ambushed by dingo men and giant dingos atleast 8 times in one night, losing most of my companions in the process.

I was sent to kill a random peasant hiding out in a lair. His name? "Thec Muffinsinks"

I like to imagine he has a bounty on his head because he stole the baker's muffins.

This game is awesome, but I get a headache if I stare at the letters for too long

With the new vampirism, I'd like to hope the companions that join me are vampires because it seems like they'd be more powerful.

>Play Adventure mode
>Decapitate dragon by throwing a shirt at it
>mfw

So apparently worldgen can finally leave the Age of Myth. Hurrah!
