You aren't going to convince me with a tone like that. It may be a virtual building game but that doesn't mean you all have to act like children in the thread.

Thread behavior aside, the server isn't even being used. The only remotely new build of note is the space shuttle and some of the few good builds that were on the server have been removed. It seems pretty clear to me now that most users lack the creative drive and/or attention span to just build something; clearly some arbitrary reward system or a flashy gimmick is needed to grab their attention.

I added that sucker in. I felt it belonged there.
Think of new ideas, the whole concept of just a freebuild of spaceships have gone dry. That or get ARES to actually use the server for something more constructive than people just dumping things in there. Sure it's fun always building fancy stuff with the fancy stuff on the server but put some use towards it. Giving people the material and no objective doesn't get you far, maybe back then but now it seems nothing is cooperating.
I'd say keep the server running, but do something with it instead of letting it gain dust.

I'm not sure what to do about all of this. Reactor, on the note of inactivity you do know that (for me at least) workloads are ramping up as finals rapidly approach so freetime is dwindling. As for the thread behavior, I have to say that hgpucom's and smeggheads behavior has been ridiculous. Guys, this isn't your clan thread to stuff up. You have forum accounts, make an ISF thread if you want to do that. Since I don't like to act out of emotion I'm gonna sleep on this and make a decision in the morning.

And on the server discussion i'd like to say that I did try making several builds on there that were cleared. I know that this rule has since been abolished but I haven't really had any time to build anything else lately as i've been given a few school assignments to do these holidays.

I've even been meaning to go there and load a ship i'm currently working on.

it just hasn't been the "season" for space builds lately. BlockLand's creativity has dwindled these few months and no one has the enthusiasm to revive themselves.

I'm not trying to run a slave camp; I know everyone has lives to attend to and I'm no beacon of progress. But when I start seeing good builds disappearing and people saying they are going to build their ships elsewhere, I have to wonder what the point of the server is. It's not a slave camp but I don't want it to be a mausoleum either.

For now I'm closing the server. When the season is right it may come back. Let's assume that will be around Summer for now.

I want to start a mega-project. But do to the fact progress will be slowly made like the Seattle build an TAG's Ageis I don't find building it on the server will be apropiate do to the fact you guys want the server not to have so many unfinished I'm not building it there. Currently I think Comr4de should get a dedicated server since the whole "door prise" is not really working out except for what Tophius made and even there he only spent $1.

forget dood. I just posted a thread in the gallery on whole bunch of fighters that were entirely built on your server and I just started a pirate frigate of sorts. You can't bash on inactivity when you yourself are the least active. Weak...

If we all pitch in it'd be like less than half a dollar per member per month for an RTB server.
But I didn't even come to the ARES server in the past month due to school so who am I to say what we need.
