New Manhattan has posed as an extremely aggressive force to be reckoned with for a long time.  Since the underground tunnels give the most access to government officials, then the claim of "desiring peace" seems quite unreal.  Now that they're not the top dog, they're claiming that, and standing behind it to claim that we're the aggressors.  If they claim to be saving the tech for peaceful purposes, then I'm not believing it.

FYI, the Areonautilus is a Galileo-Class Submarine ¹/₄^th the size of Long Island.  A Galileo-Class Submarine is one that uses GMPT Reactors to ascend and descend, even out of the ocean.  It contains an aircraft bay, 8 Leviathan-X Railguns, and a small self-sufficient environment that provides the staff and officers with food and recreation.  The Areonautilus is even able to go into space.  There are also two smaller bays where two smaller submarines may attach.

Only one exists because it costed a metric forgetton of materials and money to build.  There are only two Galileo-Class submarines in existence.  The other one is about the size of a nuclear submarine.
