Author Topic: States are petitioning to leave the union. About 4 already met their goal.  (Read 11153 times)

Oh god my sides.

The US will kick the states asses who succeed.

Anyways, we really don't want a Civil War right now.

Wow...wouldnt that go against the first ammendment?
completely.

literally can't. it would probably destroy this country.

Wow...wouldnt that go against the first ammendment?
it would, and it's not very different from the Alien and Sedition Acts
it also kinda irritates me how it includes the word "major". Making it major religions only is just handicapped imo

on another note, did anybody notice how, unlike all the others, the petition title for New Hampshire's secession doesn't include the word "Peacefully"

It really shouldn't be called the US then.

The states aren't going to suceed, OP is very misleading and wrong

too many people are saying "succeed" or "succession" it's kinda funny tho

also idk why people are sending these things to the federal government. secession would be a decision for the state government(s), bc if it was up to the actual US, no states would ever (or would have ever) seceded from the country

If the states want to secede peacefully, we cannot simply say no and call in the troops.
This is 2012, not 1861.

Besides, if any of you actually read something, I can clearly see why these states want to secede.
I am completely okay with us having 47 states.

In fact, I would gladly hop on the next flight to live in Texas if they actually do secede.

Left Wingers and Right Wingers are too stupid to tell the difference.

Yes we can
It's against the law, and we have the right to enforce it.

Where in the law does it say you can't leave?

And if I am mislead than... oops.

It's not like a petition does anything anymore.
We have the rightto attemptto petition.

You are mislead

there would be some silly diplomacy first though

That. We can't have some country at our borders. It also may hurt our economy.

Hey, without the Feds throwing money at people with welfare, it may be okay if the Obama loving states get succeeded :)
