Nah mane, he's just jelly of such a fantastic build, he can't handle the the Pentium G3258!
Dear god lol.

do you mean bottlenecking?
Wait
Its actually a thing?
How does that even work? Seriously i dont understand computers at all.

Oh sweet summer child. You should've bought a prebuilt.

Guys I just ordered my most powerful computer to date

It's a Powerbook G3. It has a 233MHz PowerPC processor, 32MB of RAM, a 2GB HDD and a 1024x768 screen

My 6-core i7 with 32GB of RAM and 4.7TB total HDD space is gonna have some competition

You see, bottles have necks, and when you put your richard computer parts in it, they get stuck and that's why they call it a bottleneck.

it doesn't ACTUALLY make anything else slower, it just means you can't really play any cool games because your processor (which is also important) is garbage
someone made an explanation that I read a while ago, and it stuck with me
he talks about it in this blog: http://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/?p=3139

the rest of that series is pretty cool too, I'd suggest reading it if you're into that stuff

No forget all that stuff. I rather pay $600 than $1200.
Anyways I changed my dual core to some quad core wich will probably do the job. I think

Now I dont have my wombo combo discount anymore :(

It depends on what your exact specs of your computer are, but consider this (I don't know what your build is that you showed your buddy, I'm just going to assume you chose a dual core CPU and a very powerful GPU):

Let's say you're playing a pretty demanding game, like the latest Total War games.  These games, in battles, have a lot of CPU calculations going on as well as a plenty rendering needed from the GPU.  If you're running on high graphics settings with like a ton of calculations going on with your powerful GPU, the game will have no problem making everything look pretty, but because your CPU is pretty weak relative to your GPU, the game is gonna stutter and look a bit of a slideshow because the processor only has so much power to do many, many calculations.

tl;dr: game look pretty but run slow because math cant be done quick enough

Often times "pre-built" systems are cheaper; they can get parts at a much, much cheaper price, and still sell them for a profit.

Will an old i7  920(2008) lga 1155 or 56, like the one pictured, work on new motherboards?

You would have to buy a motherboard which had that exact type of CPU slot.

Right, 55 or 56 whichever it is, but is a 55 or 56 the same today as it was in 2008 or is there more to it?

I updated my drivers, check it out:

Super duper hard question to Google
