Ayyyyy I got a free PC that I built in my computer repair class at school

It's currently running a Pentium E5300, 2gb DDR2, and a 512mb 9500GT

Tomorrow I'll throw in a Core 2 Duo E7500 and a 2gb GT730

Ayyyyyy I created my first ever completed build on PcPartPicker!

It's with this same Dell Vostro, except I got a Core2Duo E7500, 4gb DDR2, and a GT730 from my repair class and threw it into my machine. Works great too.

three 120's fit on the front (intake), four on top (push/pull exhaust through h100i rad), and 140 for exhaust

apparently amd silently re released the rx460 as the rx560
so this means i bought a rebranded 460
forget it
it's still better than this gt730 i had

Though the 500 series are slightly more powerful than the 400. It's not a straight up rebrand.

nice

you got free pc parts from your school? dang, you're lucky.

Yep, I get a forgetton

That Vostro hasn't been used since a few days after that picture, since I threw in my MSI board and i3 2130 and 8gb ram into a new HP case. I got a new cooler and WiFi dongle the past few days, now I'm waiting on my case I ordered and a loving job

Also, that Vostro sucked. The 4gb of DDR2 held it back a forgetton, causing a lot of stuttering and general slowdown.

Ever considered upgrading from a 730 to a 1030?

Ever considered upgrading from a 730 to a 1030?
No, but I am going to buy a used GTX 670 from /r/hardwareswap for 60 bucks. I'm just borrowing the 730 from my computer class lol

Here's my PcPartPicker with everything I have and haven't bought. The things at 0.00 purchased are stuff I've gotten for free.

If the power supply's current sale ends before I buy it, I'll get the semi-modular Corsair CX450m, the 2017 version with the black and white label

Shopping for HDDs for the first time in many years,  my 1TB is nearly full so I'm looking for a 4TB.
Wondering if anyone has recommendations.

WD has their blue and black lines, black is advertised as being more intended for gaming uses whereas blue is general use, but i don't know if it's really worth almost twice the price (Amazon has 4TB blues for $99 and blacks for $191) ?

I have Seagates currently but I'm not familiar with their lines
