Even if no more problems with the home-hosting happen, would you pay $4.00/month if HammerHost was still run at home?

Yes, home hosting will stabilize and become more reliable
No, I feel comfortable only with a remote dedicated server

If you can't sympathise for Pacnet then think about his mom.

Why are you bringing drama which has no relationship to the hosting service into this topic??

The connection is still encrypted, isn't it?
worthless encryption, easy to fake

service down again
I know, I get e-mail alerts.
The three downtimes today and the two downtimes yesterday seem to be strategically planned. They appear to happen whenever a lot of players are playing. More evidence this is a DoS.

You too, huh?
I don't know for sure that this is really a DoS, but I would say a 80% chance.
Yes, I'm probably a much bigger target than you. But Verizon will never terminate the service, that's my only advantage.

What. That could mean anything. It could even mean your isp can't handle that many players.

I have 25 Mbps upload (which usually is 30+); of course I can easily handle 40 players.

So is the service still alive or not?

I have no idea what is going on.

i think it would be for the best if hamer closed the service until he can get the problems fixed up completely

What happened was that the CPU was not fried. Whenever a shutdown from a CPU overheat happens, a lot of MSI AMD 900 chipset motherboards require a few minutes of being off. Then you can insert the CPU back in, and it will work again if it's not damaged.
I also did a 4-hour torture stress test (Prime 95) to see if there was any damage, and there was absolutely none (plus the temp. still always was below 40° C).

So 10 hours after the failure, HammerHost was back in business again.
Unfortunately, over the past 3-4 days, the network outages from 1 week ago came back.

90% uptime is better than no uptime at all.

New Pingdom link:

The whole point of having public pingdom monitoring is for transparency of service quality. If you're going to get a new pingdom account every time you have issues just to reset the downtime percentage it's completely pointless.
