I don't like this update. now there is still a reason for keeping the core around. Why can't ships just be destroyed piece by piece and lose function based on which pieces are destroyed?

I agree with you man, but on the upside it makes ships more like Star Trek ships in how they take damage, meaning smaller ships and bigger ships can fight each other in a way now that is not purely a contest of how many weapon or shield blocks you have.

it wont, cuz he will

Hello.

Are you guys using Com's modified Boresław yet? the original was dank Maybe someday I'll be able to stick with it and stay around. Sorry Com.

You realize that larger sips take more structure HP damage, right? Meaning you have to destroy a smaller percentage of the enemy ship to disable it than you would on a smaller ship. Meaning that small sips ave a chance.

missiles took a big hit in terms of efficiency (they needed one) so I'm not sure how well it would perform now. I'll re-evaluate it.

Uh, yeah, that's what I was saying...?

I am a vehement supporter of the use of Lanchester's Square Law as the mechanism that governs ship to ship combat. One small ship should not have a chance in hell against a big ship, however, a dozen, or dozens of small ships who's combat power increases exponentially should be able to overpower one.

In terms of armament of the Boreslaw, I'm sure I could cook up some replacements for the missile batteries once someone explains how cannons work now. It sounds like they are automatically punch-through now.

durp i cant read

Plant filled me in on some stuff. I might be on Wednesday, or maybe it won't be for another two weeks. I'll try to motivate myself into making the new turrets though.

I'm not getting on until they ANSWER MY QUESTIONS OR ADD CHAIRS

using that law, if you were fighting 12 small ships your ship would need to be 144 times larger
idk about that sir

at the end of the article it says people often use a 1.5 exponent, which would put the ship size at about 40x larger

I have tried to measure by mass. The concept is on but the actual math could be adjusted.

you can hit O when looking at a block to sit on it.

oh cool so I don't have to curl up into a core block anymore to operate the ship? nice!!!!!

Is there reason to destroy planets? I'm looking in to buying a jaunty navy hat and jaunty googles so that I can get a free colony laser or gas too.
