Last time I remember this subject it was actually about the issue of some female indie dev having slept with reviewers for positive reviews and the actual ethics of gaming journalism without death threats.  Now the subject is about basically making fun of people who say it's about ethics of gaming journalism with actual death threats and unrelated female developers/reviewers being harassed (so I've heard/seen on Twitter).  Can anyone explain briefly what happened?

It's stupid because there were no positive reviews to begin with. Sure, Zoe Quinn is a stuffty person, but there are tons of stuffty people in the world- I fail to see how her actions apply to video games (aside from that one Game Jam she crashed. that was pretty ignominious.)

There's too much to briefly summarize it, but GamerGate started when evidence started piling up that several gaming news sites were corrupt. Zoe Quinn was just the catalyst, she is not the target. Except for a bunch of handicaps who think it's funny to bully her, but again, that's not the goal of GamerGate.
