Author Topic: Anagaea II – A New Age of Empires [1117 AD]  (Read 131129 times)

The New Union, satisfied that the rebel factions that can be aided have been sufficiently, stops shipping stuff directly into S. Calzone due to safety concerns and, secretly, concerns of actual discovery of aid given to rebels.

I mean like, there are other ways we could easily know that you are participating in helping South Calzone.

The Holy Nations are not a group of idiots.
Neither is the New Union.  The only way of proving that Avalonia's been in there delivering weapons and training would be to capture one of the ships bringing that stuff over, which as you can read is impossible at this point.

Hasn't it already been established that the vast majority of weapons in S. Calzone are pre-revolution Avalonian anyway.  I don't see why that would create a scandal when there is nothing more than supposition at this point linking any weapons in S. Calzone to the new government.  Even as far as military training goes, Avalonia's tactics on land have remained about the same, nothing to connect the New Union to the conflict except conspiracy theory.  Even if there were Avalonian soldiers in there it would be more reasonable to assume (unless they were really organized) that they're holdovers from Avalonia's deposed military regime.

Given that I have a 'new' nation, it bears noting that the New Union doesn't hate Cassians, it just has a particular distrust and suspicion of the Holy Nations and believes them to be a tangible threat - otherwise it would have kept its resident Cassians in their previous, dishonored, position.  Such would be the statement should such negative reports return to Avalonia.

Swat, if you want to start something over some hard to prove incident that hasn't really made your conquest that much harder, so be it; but remember that even a wounded lion has its teeth and claws.

Once again, I'll be indisposed for a Saturday, so I'm doing REs today.

Random Events No. 19

Estrand:  The darkening of the skies has harmed crops, causing a widespread famine that has affected the nation severely.  Many are angry that the military has been able to collect food from the people, when those who grow the food starve.  Armed robberies and violent crime increase.  (POP: 0%)

Ezbatan States:  A few more states fall the Resunese armies.  States on the Resunese border grow increasingly worried and face a threat to their security and stability.  (MIL: 30%)

Atenisia:  Many Ateni are killed by a plague that spreads through the Eastern part of the nation.  Efforts by priests to stop the spread of the disease through supplication to God have failed.  Many from the wealthier echelon of society have been lost to the pestilence.  (POP:  20%)

Avalonia:  Nothing out of the ordinary here.

Galaumia:  Nothing out of the ordinary here.

Caprica:  Nothign out of the ordinary here.

Hlaohamarr:  Famine in Estrand has caused many from there to purchase fish from Hlaoman ships at great price.  The cash boost spreads throughout the lower levels of society.  (ECN:  70%)

Auria:  Auria, still feeling the pain of the collapse of Zesisoter's economy and decreased trade, experiences a massive military defection.  The vast majority of its military leaves Auria for tribal life in Sordelands, and leave the nation open to attack, which often comes in the form of roving marauders and bandits.  (MIL:  10%)

Espovon:  East Albiton, rather than overrunning Espovon, leaves it in peace, sends it some apology money, and declares Espovon a nation of its long lost cousins.  Shortly thereafter it is learned that the Crown Prince of East Albiton has fallen in love with the daughter of Espovon's King.  One wedding later, any hostility that East Albiton bore toward its Southern neighbor has vanished.  (NPC:  100%)

Rēsugurētā:  Resunese armies have taken pretty heavy casualties on the field of battle, despite their successes.  (MIL: 40%)

Ru'sh Naal:  With Tejina continuing to provide a good outlet for Rustuffe goods, the economy grows slightly.  (ECN:  60%)

Plethora please moderate the following:

Many of the Ezbátan States worry about the sudden oncoming forces and call for a temporary union in order to push the threat back.

oh that happened lol

beside cassian faith is slightly already established with espovon because of my trades

Uh I would like to go against that little tad of the outcome:

Atenisia has always been a nation that believe that, in his infinite power and knowledge, God will give the chance to heal to the people he has personally gifted; they believe that the power of God does not fully heal people through the power of prayer, but through the smart and gifted people he placed on the earth.

AKA doctors would be the ones to pray and heal people via giving them medicines and cutting them open.

Trade to Atensia reduced due to plague , Espovon states it's sorry but its for the best interest of their own people

Uh I would like to go against that little tad of the outcome:
Setting aside the fact that I'm getting tired of people undermining the REs, your people are dropping like flies regardless of what your priests and doctors are doing, at least at this point, in part due to the volume of suck people and in part because the plague is just that bad.

Many of the Ezbatan states are able to set aside their differences and form a coalition to resist the invaders.

Uh I don't think you understand there is a difference between throwing a Bible at someone and quarantining them with someone who knows that cough=magical spread.

w/e

But if this plague is "just that bad", then that means all of the countries surrounding me and accepting my trade would get it too.
aka black plague.

or maybe the countries surrounding you get a lick of sense and determine atensian traders = bad stuff and dont let traders into their country anymore

or maybe the countries surrounding you get a lick of sense and determine atensian traders = bad stuff and dont let traders into their country anymore
that's impossible

impossible in the way that all HN nations have mostly open borders with each other

you wouldn't stop the spread of it initially.

Well yeah, but who knows.  They might be like "Osht dæmons" and do something extremely drastic.
