For the record Albiton, the real heavy hitter, had already withdrawn a lot of support for the war; it's the minnows that have mostly backed out now - not completely withdrawn, nowhere did I say that. The rest have not completely withdrawn, and Marivus is still wholly involved. Those nations have been fighting there for decades and no player nations were pursuing it very actively. It's been pursued as a war of attrition by the HN and a more guerrilla type thing by the factions, with a population that, it was already noted in past events, is not favorable toward occupation and just wants to do its own thing. By now there's little in Calzone to loot, making it a relatively profitless war.
Since we are rounding the more-so-capable era where we need to do a bunch of battles, we need to lower how many years go by.
It is ridiculous that wars go on for many years because we aren't capable of posting every hour or so to keep up with it.
I'm with Swat3 on this one.
After careful consideration, the nations invited see the value in joining the New Union, swayed by internal stability, political marriages, and decades of good ties, become a part of it. Feasts and gift giving continue to keep things strong, and things are looking up (SWAT, you never moderated on this, and any bias I may have aside, the dominoes have been building or in place and well established for longer than they were for pretty much any other area that's part of the New Union; given the size of the New Union, it would be unreasonable to think I could expand at this point and retain control, and so I will not be expanding any further). The hereditary monarchs take over the positions as high command representatives of their lands and their descendants will be preferred members for several generations.
The militaries of the new provinces receive an overview, and preliminary efforts are made to incorporate these forces into the Avalonian military. Plans exist to standardize these forces to the Avalonian model.
Public works and other such stuff occurs in the new provinces. Universities, roads, bridges, &c. are being constructed, and the Order of the Golden Lion establishes its schools; many honorable people from these lands already are members of the Order, but many more who are considered honorable are invited now.
Fortification of Turtle Island continues. Dreibetungist missionaries continue to spread the word in Calzone despite oncoming armies, mostly by strengthening the faith of Dreibetungists, not preaching to Cassian dogs at this point. Some few, especially on the Southern Frontier call for aiding the resistance against the Cassian invaders, but most aren't doing that.
