Atenisia nods thoughtfully and backs down.

It hopes the Pope decides to allow peace agreements to start being thrown by each side, as Marivus simply cannot handle this fight on his own and the war is a lost one. Until then, it still fights alongside Marivus.

Plethora, it can't be altered now, but Atenisia's RE is far too harsh for a 10%.  As it is written, that's like a -10% or -30%.

I personally don't think so.  Atensia's interests are being harmed, but the nation itself isn't.  It lost no lands, troops, allies, or goods.  There's also still the Pope, who can probably move the other nations into some further involvement at least.  Just my take.

considering that wars been going on for hundreds of years(?), i wouldn't be surprised if a simple loss in a battle would be enough for some nations to back out

One of the trainees under Hatol-Wun Bao enters a hypnotic state during a class and begins prophesying* about a Buddhist* child newly born in Rustuffe lands who* would bring ruin to the Kim Dynasty.

Hatol-Wun, concerned, notifies the Honorable President Wau Lis'ei-Kim Kai whom orders the expulsion of all families identifying as Buddhist* whom were expecting children, and all current newborns of Buddhist* families taken into state custody for interim* care and examination, stating a necessity of national security. The children would be released back to the families only after determining they had not the birth-mark foretold by the Tei.

Crack open yer history books kiddos, this here is going to be an allusitory series of events ;D

Buddhist*
sorry it was bothering me

Anyways, Galaumia recommends to the rest of the Islamic Empire that we accept the expelled Buddhist families.

IE says no, and wonders why Galaumia would offer such a silly thing.  Irajinad announces to the emirates that it will begin a march westward in 10 years or less.

When I stated RE guidelines, I said that it's increasingly common as results reach lower.  I'm not talking about NPC vs. Atenisia homeland.  Yes, the war was a circumstance, but we're talking about a huge holy alliance circle fighting a single nation.  Yes, there were the crusades, but we have million-soldier armies moving into S. Calzone.  I find the idea of the war going ill to be laughable as Napoleon failing to take over central Europe.  It's too much to have almost all the holy alliance completely withdraw over only a 10%.

On another subject, Caprica should be an NPC by now.

Galaumia recognizes that if we convert these families to Islam they could A) present valuable information and B) bump our population up considerably, especially since we could require mandatory military service in exchange for their refugee status. What is Irajinads problem with that?

Also, Galaumia prepares 200,000 soldiers for war.

Irajinad says that's fine, but also recommends indentured servitude for 15 years for those not willing to be conscripted for 10 years, this to be in effect for any male or female above the age of 14.

Also there must be mandatory schooling in for new families in Islamic law, culture of the home state, etc.

Banishira and the Bequelans unite in a political marriage-alliance, and ultimately dissolve their borders to become the Kingdom of Albhad.  A collection of kingdoms north of newly-formed Albhad form into another kingdom, named the Ytsur Empire (Nepal).

swat please into of pope's reaction to avalonian missionaries

Keep them out and turn them away.  If they're being pushy, push back more.

Atenisian troops alongside Marivian troops prep to attack a large faction's command post, hoping to weaken said faction.

Since we are rounding the more-so-capable era where we need to do a bunch of battles, we need to lower how many years go by.

It is ridiculous that wars go on for many years because we aren't capable of posting every hour or so to keep up with it.

For the record Albiton, the real heavy hitter, had already withdrawn a lot of support for the war; it's the minnows that have mostly backed out now - not completely withdrawn, nowhere did I say that.  The rest have not completely withdrawn, and Marivus is still wholly involved.  Those nations have been fighting there for decades and no player nations were pursuing it very actively.  It's been pursued as a war of attrition by the HN and a more guerrilla type thing by the factions, with a population that, it was already noted in past events, is not favorable toward occupation and just wants to do its own thing.  By now there's little in Calzone to loot, making it a relatively profitless war.

I'm with Swat3 on this one.

After careful consideration, the nations invited see the value in joining the New Union, swayed by internal stability, political marriages, and decades of good ties, become a part of it.   Feasts and gift giving continue to keep things strong, and things are looking up (SWAT, you never moderated on this, and any bias I may have aside, the dominoes have been building or in place and well established for longer than they were for pretty much any other area that's part of the New Union; given the size of the New Union, it would be unreasonable to think I could expand at this point and retain control, and so I will not be expanding any further).  The hereditary monarchs take over the positions as high command representatives of their lands and their descendants will be preferred members for several generations.

The militaries of the new provinces receive an overview, and preliminary efforts are made to incorporate these forces into the Avalonian military.  Plans exist to standardize these forces to the Avalonian model.

Public works and other such stuff occurs in the new provinces.  Universities, roads, bridges, &c. are being constructed, and the Order of the Golden Lion establishes its schools; many honorable people from these lands already are members of the Order, but many more who are considered honorable are invited now.

Fortification of Turtle Island continues.  Dreibetungist missionaries continue to spread the word in Calzone despite oncoming armies, mostly by strengthening the faith of Dreibetungists, not preaching to Cassian dogs at this point.  Some few, especially on the Southern Frontier call for aiding the resistance against the Cassian invaders, but most aren't doing that.

Atenisia, seeing the war becoming more straining on its economy, asks the Holy Nation assembly to formally make peace with the factions of Calzone.

If Albhad has a majority Islamic population, Galaumia suggests inviting them to the Islamic Empire.

Also, Galaumia will offer brief periods of study at Aletrebyh Medresh in Islam and Ancient Studies for these refugees, also offering a short class called Cultures of the Islamic Empire. Galaumia will take up your suggestion on the indentured servitude. Expelled Buddhist families from Ru'sh Naal begin trickling into Galaumia.
