Let's try to brown townyze why he left the vault. He obviously is alone, being the lone survivor. I don't think that some other life force killed the other dwellers, given the vault was still sealed shut when he came to open it. I hope that it wasn't something lame like every other cryo tube failed except his survived for no apparent reason, because that'd be kinda lazy, and sort of a reiteration of FO3's storyline. I can't really say why he'd be the only one left alive. Now, as for why he left the vault. It could be that he either saw no point staying there any longer. It's also possible that he's either running away from his problems, and that that it was somehow his fault that everyone else died, or that he's looking for answers as to why they died. He seems like he's kind of on a search for something personal when he returns to his pre-war house and finds Codsworth. He also acts like he needs healing since he just randomly allows the dog to travel with him. Idk, just speculations because there are many ways Bethesda could take this.

no but there were actually cryopods in mothership zeta.

Maybe that's one of the big twists in the story, or perhaps in the spirit of adding features based on mods for previous games they're adding a variety of body implants like Project Nevada had and using you being an android to explain it
if you are an android I don't think that it would be to explain body implants, since there were implants in old world blues

There were those guys in FO3 hooked up the computer and in FO2 there was Private Dobbs.

I feel like Bethesda is going to say "forget it" and bring back Harold again in Fallout 4.

I mean, just because he's a tree now doesnt mean he cant just walk down to Boston and plant himself down there.

oh yeah the people in the tranquility lane simulator were in cryopods

I absolutely loved tranquility lane in fo3.

This is a good tip for anybody who just got New Vegas

is it weird that new vegas keeps crashing on me near specific locations? like nipton, the mojave outpost, going up the highway from camp searchlight, what-have-you
i don't have any texture pack mods or anything, but it crashes every time in the same places

Verify game cache and reinstall

I believe most of the vaults were designed to open after 200 years. Maybe after 200 years he was taken out of cryo ready to be released, only to find everyone else dead or missing. That would be pretty lazy too though.

download the 4gb patch
it could be the game's stuffty optimization killing itself because it can't load all the npcs and etc inside
