what different kind of power armor is there besides t-45x?
t-45
raider
t-51
t-60
x-01

the power armor you get at the start is terrible, uses cells too fast and breaks easy
From what i know the endoskeleton of power armor is no different than any other set. The only thing that counts is the armor pieces and modifications you use on it. The armor is still a bit too powerful to begin with. Hell, they give you a minigun with a boatload of ammunition and set you immediately against a deathclaw, one of the creatures that you're suppose to be loving afraid of. Fighting the deathclaw was hardly an event and you didn't have to do ANY thinking whatsoever to fight it or ways to get around it. They could have taken any direction and they chose to make 2 of the most legendary things in fallout and make it a cakewalk.

I'm hoping the use Obsidian to make another Core Region game like they did with New Vegas. Because seeing Obsidian fix all of Bethesda's mistakes would be glorious.

forget yes. That would be a game I would preorder. They could go back to California or something.

do they have actual regular power armor in the game. like the t-51 power armor?

I think he means the stuff you just wear normally

and if that's the case, I doubt it. that would kinda defeat the purpose of having special power armor...

Im sick of everything taking place in california. That state is a spotlight whore.

I instantly ditched the power armor and minigun at my base and I don't touch them cause I didn't earn them

i like the power armor system, it feels like the best way to integrate vehicles into an open world dungeony game

the thing is that fo4's power armor doesn't work on the original fallout schemata of 'power armor basically just makes you invincible' because the power armor itself is surprisingly fragile, a large target, comes with some handling drawbacks (at least in my experience) and can only defend so well against bullets and introducing really stuffty power armor very early on is basically like giving the player their first car, not giving them an instant 'i win' button

ive gotten blown up plenty of times even in power armor in dungeons and i've noticed that i chew through power armored enemies like nothing if i can get the drop on them

Exactly how I feel. People seem to think the power armour you get is the end all and be all, but its super loving weak and needs upgrading to be worth a stuff.

it doesn't work with the lore either. power armor is actually supposed to be agile and easy to move in, while it did a good job of protecting the user it's main purpose was to augment the user's strength so he could use bigger guns.

and the t-51 power armor has a fusion core that can fully power the suit for up to 1000 years. shouldn't the suit be infinite?

it is agile and easy to move in, you're a perfectly capable and superhumanly tough robot man

it's just that i, the player, prefer being on foot and being relatively small then stomping around in a big shiny 'shoot me' sign even though the big shiny shoot me sign actually has a bunch of reasons to ride in it

also the 1000 year fusion core thing is definitely just a plot device to facilitate the player wearing power armor like it's nothing without maintaining it; if anything, the new fusion core system makes way more sense to me because something as powerful as power armor doesn't feel powerful unless even wearing it is a deliberate choice you have to make and an expenditure of some resource

and beyond that the express purpose behind power armor is that it's the fallout universe's equivalent to tanks; extremely tough and can easily shrug off small arms fire and, as an added bonus, extremely mobile and capable of wielding larger ordnance
