lol are u serious

we've already discussed it's not possible on smash 4, and that the closest thing (and the thing i was doing in the gif) was dance trotting.

wait a minute, A) the gif in the quote isn't dance trotting, it's dance dashing, and B) it's not that it's not possible, more that it's useless?

what the forget

that's not dash dancing

that's some pseudo jank that mimics the look of dd'ing without the benefits

which IS IT

which IS IT

it is dashdancing. you did not perform what was in the video (which covers more space than what you did + has about the same functionality as dashdancing)
i think people saying it's not dashdancing basically mean "well, yeah, it is dashdancing, but it doesn't have any real use unlike actual (64/melee/PM) dashdancing"

it's similar to people saying "you can't combo in brawl and smash 4"
well yes, you can combo, but combos are few, short, unreliable, or only a few characters have them
but compare to 64 where high hitstun, no DI, and instant meteor smashes means 0-to-deaths are common, or melee/PM where mobility lets you techchase and react to DI more easily and you can't airdodge out of tumble like in brawl smash/4

Don't talk about 64 if you don't know anything about it champ lmao

There is DI in smash 64. Smash 64 uses Smash DI and is superior to DI as its been seen in other smash games. There aren't just no ''instant meteor smashes'', there are NONE at all.

smash DI is different than regular DI
and what do you mean no "instant meteor smashes"? I guess that was a bad word choice on my part, I meant that they come out very fast compared to the other smash games, and have the same start up as basically any other aerial...

or do you mean that they're basically spikes since there's no meteor cancelling?

I mean, DI and SDI are different things. There is no DI, there is Smash DI.

There are no meteor cancels. They're all spikes.

The skid at the end of the "dash dance" above is the downfall to the whole technique. It's borderline useless for some characters and some of the old but golds don't retain dacus like they used to.
