pageloss:
come on.

basically: don't attack microsoft or anyone else over the internet and you wont be hunted down.
as far as the legal process goes, there's nothing we can do, that's a political issue and every website has to do that if they dont want to be shut down

Can they make themselves sound any more draconian?

illiteracy was more common back then so idk

come on.

Hold on now, the only one that would possibly force them to* withhold it would be the first point. You remember my CISPA is back topic right? That makes it so that any law enforcement agency will have access to all the information microsoft has gathered; that's complying with the law that allows them to do so. Plus, "when we have a good faith belief" is intentionally vague: Legally, I could have a good faith that my highlighter is possessed.

It's called "legalese" and it's a requirement to make sure they cannot be sued because they weren't specific enough.

give
it
time
its slow at first
How long? because this is unbearable. Both on my desktop (which has decent to good specs, mind you) and on my Surface, there's lag everywhere, I can barely use Edge, and it literally won't allow me to download Chrome. I downloaded the .exe using another computer and installed it there, and it won't load anything.

can i get windows 10 if my windows 8.1 isn't activated? i didn't pirate it, i just used the cd i installed windows 8.1 with into my mom's pc, but i already used the activation key for her pc.

unfortunately, no
was windows 7 activated on your microsoft account?

i did have windows 7 oem on this pc, but then i upgraded to windows 8.1. what do you mean activated on my microsoft account?

If I had a nickel for every time I heard this...

I'm not scared of anything. If I was scared of the NSA I would be huddled in a corner balling, because they're goddamn everywhere, even in Canada, look up bill C-51. Privacy is a fundamental human right and they're trying to take advantage of people who don't know how to read a privacy policy to violate that right. I don't like it, and I don't like my privacy being invaded, so I won't be using it.

Before you say "But they won't look! They don't care!" It's not just the accessing of private data that I care about, but also the accessibility. Them having the ability to alone is detestable.

It's also, as McJobs said, an issue of security. If they have access to our data, then a hacker can too.

why are you guys scared anyways? are you predators?
As somebody else said, it's not necessarily Microsoft, the cops or NSA we're concerned about. If information is leaked to malicious sources (black hat hackers, scammers etc) that can lead to all sorts of trouble for us.

does anybody else get short audio lags? is it buggy drivers? it's kinda annoying

People defending Window 10's data collection ought to post their personal information.
They clearly don't mind people seeing it so you might as well show us too.
