I'm homeschooled and don't have to worry about going though this.

again as someone has said, they do not force you to do it. they just ask you. if they actually force you, you should really sue them, as they cannot do that.

The pledge was written by Francis Bellamy as part of a campaign to sell flags to schools, despite Bellamy being a Christian socialist.  It was a tremendously successful advertising campaign and flag sales sky rocketed.

Kids used to salute the flag like this:

Until the national socialists really started making trouble. 

The pledge of allegiance is the perfect blend of socialism, capitalism, religion, fascism and advertising.

my district only has schools do it once a week

i've done it everyday at school for the past 10 years
it's not like you have to sing it on stage, just sing it or be quiet, it lasts like 20 seconds and really isn't much to complain about.
