My school had a couple of deputy sheriffs that would occasionally patrol the parking lot and interior and be present during lunch hours. One of the non-armed security guards in the middle school got busted for possession of child research at the volunteer fire hall.

My highschool had about twelve different points of entry, zero security guards, and no metal detectors. It was an outdoor school where milling outside by students was fairly common. You could leave at lunch or take free periods, so the gates were never closed.

if they installed metal detectors at my school i would be stopped literally every morning. i bring my laptop, tablet, chargers, headphones, mouse, my lanyard (which has metal) with my id card, and extra batteries for my bike lights in case i need them (sometimes i wear my backpack when traveling at night)
that and the backpack itself has metal on it too

my school has like 5 guards that have golf carts and one officer (that thinks i'm cool or something)

Read the comments. It was bullstuff. Nothing lockeddown. The school just went about as its normal day, people had to find out this information by rumors. The only way people knew is because of an email sent to parents. There was no ''lockdown''.
