The only change I'd make to this law is state that lethal force is only authorized if there's reason to believe they'll cause irreparable harm to something. People shouldn't be getting shot for graffiti on anything but if you somehow manage to topple a statue and it breaks then you got what's coming to you

Yes and no.
There still needs to be consequences for attacking and vandalizing public or private property, but it should not be immediate violence, and it certainly needs to be law enforcement in the case of public property, but private property is a whole different conversation with a set of different complications.

actually this law has been on the books for a while and its intentions were probably a lot more sincere, the real problem I'm having right now is that the forgetin police chief is encouraging people to commit murder in public

unless i was reading the wrong transcript, it looked more like a warning to potential vandals that vigilantes would have a legal defense if they shoot someone defacing a statue
