they're even more stupid if they think they'll get emulation for it any time soon lmao

Probably because the majority of BLF is children to mid-teens and they may also not like the idea of having to pay for yet another paid subscription while they're also paying for things like PSN, Xbox Live, bills, etc
Wait since when did kids pay bills? And most kids don't even pay for their own stuff it's their parents who do, but jesus if you saved up your money for christmas and did some chores maybe you'd have enough, that's how I'm getting the switch.

It's not even that expensive why do people keep saying this? The price is great for what it is
You can get a 2 game ps4 bundle for less..

ps4 isn't a new console anymore. in fact the ps4 launch price was $400

That doesn't change that it's competing against it.

the ps4 isn't a portable console and it doesn't have the exclusive software that the switch will have

EDIT: To make this a point; the Base PS4 has been on sale for 3 years (going on 4 this November), and has deprecated in value to remain competitive. The new model is cheaper as it has less physical material and a cheaper production process. It doesn't have half the technology of the Xbox One S or the Switch (and I'm a Sony fanboy), and most importantly, it's not attempting to be a portable system capable of playing AAA-tier 3D titles.

The Switch is expensive to produce, it's a new release system and Online Functionality + the JoyCons are NOT cheap to maintain/produce. Nintendo have also been a fan of modularity for a while now (New 3DS not including a charger). To reduce the base price of the system, they only give you the bare essentials. They let you pick your options. That's why the system doesn't include any games, as otherwise it would inflate the price of the base system to ridiculous levels for somebody who might know where to get the games cheaper (or already own them/have somebody to borrow from).

People seem to be crying simply because they're part of the CrowbCat Generation™, where it's expected that you bitch about every tiny little thing in the gaming world, even if it doesn't affect the quality of the final product.

if the switch is competing with anything, it's competing with the PS Vita. i dont think i have to explain why that's a joke.

Apparently Zelda BOTW is going to be 900p docked

considering the dock has no additional dedicated hardware resources that's not bad at all

except is is bad since 1080 is standard. i don't like that at all

It's a loving number, mate. What matters is if it's observably degraded or not on your screen, and when it's only 108p difference, it's not really a significant problem. Besides, FPS is SO much more important than visual fidelity. A consistent framerate is absolutely crucial.

as someone who has experienced both 1600x900 and 1920x1080 with the same game, there is a HUGE difference

what's important is keeping everything standard, which obviously isn't happening. this console is 4 years after development of what's considered "current generation" and their launch title is 3/4ths the standard resolution. that's bad

only 108p difference
1080p is almost 1.5x the resolution, it's a pretty big difference especially if you're trying to upscale

but in all fairness, i'd refrain from complaining until it's confirmed.
