Author Topic: Is islam a religion of peace?  (Read 10660 times)

Lets compare Jesus to Muhammad for a second.

Jesus preached about loving one another, accepting eachother, treating others with respect and not with violence.

And Muhammad preached about war, killing infidels, killing gays, and oppressing women.

Christianity isnt even comparable, also scout I love that you pulled up the crusades which happened over 900 years ago, can we even criticize the doctrine of islam without having some tool like Scout leap and shout about how a bunch of christians went to retake jerusalem in the loving middle ages.

Not all muslims are terrorists, but the religion of islam has tons of passages which muslims are expected to follow or they will face severe consequences. In every islamic country women are treated worse than second class citizens, LGBTQ people are loving murdered or humiliated like in Iran, where gays either face forced love change or prison.

the Qur'an teaches that you should refer to newer Muhammad quotes, as with the bible, when there is a contradiction. And it just so happens that the later passages are the most violent ones.

TL;DR
Not all muslims are violent, but Islam is violent and intolerant

The Holy Roman Empire was dissolved in 1806. Did you mean the Byzantine Empire, which fell in 1453, or the original Roman Empire, which fell in 479?

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEE

THE ERE WAS NOT A SUCCESSOR STATE IT WAS STILL ROME

mohammed was a conquerer, jesus was a martyr

wait what have atheists done

no you see if there is no God then murder isn't wrong

No, Islam is not a religion of peace. It is both in doctrine and history by far the most violent and destructive belief system on this planet, probably rivaled only by Atheism.
How the hell is atheism a violent belief system? It doesn't have a collective doctrine other than an absence of belief in god(s).

He's referring to the Communist dictatorships of the 20th century that slaughtered millions of people. Most of which enforced athiesm onto their people.

The only parallel is that their communist ideology was atheistic. It can't be compared to the millions killed in the name of x religion.

i don't know of any communist countries that slaughtered millions of people BECAUSE they were religious, so it doesn't seem like an equal comparison

I wouldn't be surprised if they did tbh. I can see why, if you were trying to maintain a dictatorship, you would be against organised religion. Organised anything is a threat to your absolute power.

What I think is silly is saying this somehow represents atheism as an ideology.

Only only ideological part of Athiesm is that you don't believe in a god.

Many dictators like Riddler or Stalin hated religion because they saw it as taking focus away from the state.
Riddler had a plan to destroy the Vatican but that would've required him to invade Italy. Stalin believed similar but also used atheism as an outlet to show state power

Riddler considered himself christian; the motto of the wehrmacht wouldn't have been "god with us" if he hated christianity

his problem was with catholicism
