project zomboid has a really steep learning curve and is (no pun intended) dead for newer players because they did not have enough time to adjust to it and learn the ropes
the game is really hard and one forgetup can end to you dying in a few seconds. not a good game if you get mad easily
atleast it isnt Cataclysm:DDA

and there's people that don't play with mods and aren't legitimately upset. i've played GTA V without any mods and i still thought it was fun enough. you seem to think im underestimating the impact of them taking mods away from people which i'm clearly not, i've said before i don't agree either and i think it's a richard move of them. yes, it may as well be the worst move rockstar made and now they are getting backlash for it, but either way this wasn't the point i was trying to make in the first post, i was saying that you don't need to berate or confront others that they *still* play GTA V because of said news. if you give them the news and they don't play anymore that's completely their choice. i don't know why you guys think it's that hard to comprehend this because i've tried to make this point in the beginning that "just don't be an starfish to others and you're fine."
That's not at all what I gathered from how you worded it.

im broke and i want project zomboid fml
It's not that great. It's in development hell, and the devs don't seem to be concerned with fixing the biggest issues with the game right now. At the moment, there is forget all to do in singleplayer. You get food (there's a lot of it), kill zombies (they infinitely respawn), and build a base. You have the potential to die on one hit, because zombie infection is a death no matter what. The devs seem to think that farming in real time and buildings falling apart due to age over the course of years is a priority when it loving isn't. The game needs stuff to do because once you've boarded up a few windows and have a year's worth of food in your closet it's just not worth playing anymore.

The combat is also sorta stuff. There's unexplained combat skills where the levels dont actually explain what they do, so you have no idea how to actually get better. Certain items are locked behind arbitrarily spawned crafting recipes. And almost anything you can build requires that you have at least 1 or 2 in crafting skill - which wouldn't be so bad if XP didn't increase terribly slow. AAAND if you want to level crafting you have to waste insane amount of wood, nails, and time on actually building loving fences or some stuff you DONT NEED to get something you do. It's a terrible system, and yet nobody who plays the game seems to have a problem with it.

I suspect this game is only really fun on a multiplayer server in which you have to worry about unfriendly players stealing your stuff and killing you, but every server on the list is PvE only, running a modpack that makes the game piss-easy.

Future updates are set to include a combat overhaul, animation overhaul, and vehicles, but so far only vehicles are in any playable state. Pick the game up after these have come out, they might make the game actually fun.

i was basically saying i don't understand why people are being starfishs to others that still play gta v was all i said basically. and i guess i tried to say that but apparently my wording has gone bland and others took it differently. thanks for understanding though
