without the forums who would I show my cool builds to, and where else could I observe the cool builds of others? Badspot would cut so much fat from the forum if he simply archived the off topic section. (Not creativity or forum games though.) it would usher in a new golden age as our collective focus suddenly shifts to content creation and community feedback. not really. if OT was archived and the rules more strictly enforced on other boards, all this general friendry would actually deviate away from BLF and onto other platforms like discord. it would also kick a lot of people out of here in the first place who use the forum less for the game and more for banter. it's like having a smoking section outside of a major mall outlet.

at the same time though, you'd see a lot less forum activity, so much less in fact it would be negative profit to keep hosting the forums in the first place.
