The sub saharan African tribes owned and sold slaves. Do you believe that the colonization of Africa was a bad thing? Why did we let them become independent when they advocated slavery and in some places still have slaves?

I think the reasons and execution of the colonization of Africa was bad. Using millions of Africans as slaves was wrong. Colonizing Africa so Europeans could take their resources (humans and otherwise) and so they could spread Christianity was wrong. If colonization was done solely to help African nations organize into coherent ""Western"" nations, with Western science and knowledge for education, it would be good since educated people are less subservient by nature and thus liberalization would follow. The fact that slavery still exists in Africa is a sign that colonization failed Africa since their infrastructure/education/what-have-you is still garbage. Doesn't help that Nestle and the gang uses it to their advantage.
