I'm pretty sure that dwarves can happily prance across a hall full of traps and not set a single one off.

Traps don't trigger when dwarves step on them (except the Spike traps). And yes, traps are insanely useful when it comes to defending the fort.

Traps will target only hostiles, like beserk dwarves and crazy animals. Traps are not triggered by the run-of-the-mill kobold thief, but ARE triggered by goblin babysnatchers and Master Thiefs.

Edit: Also, Cage traps are the current golden-gun of the game, they can catch absolutely anything apparently, even Megabeasts like dragons and titans, then you can tame those megabeasts (yes, you can own them!) and have them roam your fort.

They're a bugger to reload though, and tamed beasts that kill are untameable forever.

Make a place for it to be put, stuff in buildings is not acessible yet(except to dwarves who need it).

My tileset is a wierd mix of that one and Anti-cop's one for some odd reason.

They're all pretty much based off each other or modifications of others. There is one tileset which most, if not all tilesets are based off.

Could I get a tileset change that DOESNT change my keyset?
Plus, even if I want a tileset that isnt what I need help with, because I play nethack.

Also, the tileset forgeted with the resolution in the game so now I have to play it full screen

do you have a link to that? and not .jpg'ed ;)

I've had to set my resolution in the data/init/init.txt to 1280x400 to make the tileset look good.
Bring the image up in paint and save it as a .bmp, or it won't work.

I'm all for a succession.  Though I think the game has calmed down a bit since the days of Boatmurdered.

Maybe if we chose someplace a bit more dangerous than usual.

Another thing : No use of the prospector, or mods.

oh gawd, tried going though that your first fortress guide on the wiki, but i found it quite hard to follow seeing as how this game is NOT simple D:
