None of them fit how the game looks. It's just something for people to argue about. At the very least, people make the most random looking ones.
So Zombie Awareness, which makes the monsters smarter, doesn't fit how the game looks.
Mystic Ores and Ruins, which add lots more fun and variety to spelunking, don't fit the game?

Actually, 1.8 removed the Far Lands as an accidental glitch due to the new terrain generation code. Besides that, Endermen have no relation to it, so why people would try and make one is beyond Notch and definitely me as well.

your server isn't up

:S

It was up, at least 5 minutes ago when it was lagging terribly and huge ass chunks of land were disappearing.

According to Notch, the distortion could be fixed, and it was in 1.8, resulting in the disappearance of the Far Lands. A post on Notch's blog[1] indicates that this fix was accidental, and was probably an unintended side effect of the large changes in terrain generation for 1.8.
