Joining is still okay, the list just won't be updated.

You guys are grasping at straws reasoning with me, nothing was pointed out that I didn't already state or know about before hand. Nobody "really" read what I wrote, go figure.

It's quite evident you botched this attempt.

You guys are grasping at straws reasoning with me, nothing was pointed out that I didn't already state or know about before hand. Nobody "really" read what I wrote, go figure.

It's quite evident you botched this attempt.

Then allow me to fix that.

Here's some reasons why this failed, and probably will never get off the ground from here on:

1. "White knighting" against "trolls" only makes matters worse resulting in needless drama, you gave them all the necessary advances to bait you into an argument trap; lose: lose for everyone except the "trolls". Ends up being ridiculous, "BE NICE" "NOU" seriously you shot yourself in the foot with that.

I agree. Like I said, nothing's perfect, we need some adjustments.

2. Bad organization, avatars aren't billboards (for a reason). The "or leave" line in the avatar is pretty much a spark for resentment.  Clan Discussion/Drama are some of the last places you'd want to consider organizing a "movement".

First part was already discussed in other post. Second part I half agree with. I said we'd stay out of Drama. Clan Discussion, all you need to do is say, "Hey you, here's what you need:".

3. The giant heap of people jockeying for respect and attempting to gain it by insulting others is the product of the large influx of people joining in late 2008 (competition with no real gains or benefits other than inflating one's ego). This includes people fawning over long time members and posters (includes fluffing egos by knowing the "In-crowd").

This is mostly out of my control, and I have stated we are not trying to make ourselves look better than anyone else.

4. Not many people want to affiliate themselves with newer members, the belief being if they hose up; you look bad. Why? Because of the heap of people wanting to stand out over everyone else.

Basically I read this as no one wants to be associated with new members because they could slip up and get flamed. If I'm right, then I respond by saying that's the whole purpose of this group.

5. Different maturity levels, not dependent on age per say. Basically for every single person on the forum. Enough said about that.

I agree.

6. Bad judgment, not morons. Something you could probably learn for yourself.

Again, I don't quite see what you're getting at.

Double post.

Nobody has answered any of my questions yet.

1. Why can't you just be nice?
2. What's wrong with trying to make this place better?
3. Why won't you just accept the fact that we're only trying to do good? We're not doing anything wrong.

It makes me wonder what your motives are for continuing to put up a barrage on this group.

Really, what do you have to gain by killing TCBB? Some sort of feeling of self-accomplishment? Do you think it'll make you look good?

I'm going to resolve this no matter how long it takes.

Keep going, guys, I can keep it up no matter how long this keeps going.

Fire away. I'll be back tomorrow.

By wiping these scum off the face of the internet, we regain a sense of decency around here.
The issue is that you're wasting a lot of energy and manpower towards an unachievable, impossible task. If you continue until you "resolve this", you will continue forever. Eventually you will break. Forgive us for trying to speed up the process and spare you from the burden of unnecessary labor. You aren't making a difference, but you now have people going around spreading negativity by reminding everyone to "be nice".

Let me explain something to you: people tend to be more negative if you act snobby and act like they are lower people because they openly express their negativity. Your movement is therefore creating a reverse effect: The people involved think they are improving, while the rest of the community is becoming agitated by your "movement".

I've given my points. Your move(I suspect you will act like you are above me and better than I am, then cast off my opinions as worthless gibble)

Also to answer your pointless, poorly-thought out questions:
1) You can't always be nice. I can, but that doesn't mean I will.
2) Nothing, just that you're not.
3) You are doing something wrong.

Luckily, I caught this.

I'm going to say this again, and I really hope I don't have to say it again.

WE DO NOT BELIEVE WE ARE BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE.

That seems to be a recurring theme here when I'm being accused, and it's totally invalid.

When I say "until this is resolved", I do not mean when everyone is all nicey-nice here. I know that will never happen. That is the exact reason why TCBB changed it's mission statement from stopping all unnecessary hatred to only hatred towards new members. When I say that, I mean when all of you out there just accept the fact that I'm not giving up, and you leave TCBB alone. Is that too much to ask? There is no bad outcome from leaving us alone. We can go about our business of giving the occasional nudge in a positive direction when a new member joins the forums.

Did I miss anything?

When did we have hatred for newer members?

Only people who discriminate by ID are idiots and not to be considered part of "we".
We have been overly generous in accepting new people, it is wrong of you to accuse us of fault in that area.

I didn't say everyone does.

It's when a new person comes here and acts crazy, with spelling mistakes and such, and often there are a few handfuls of people who immediately reject the person, rather than saying "Don't overuse emotes, use good grammar and spelling, etc.". Yes, there are a lot of good people here, but the rest are just terrible, and they often drive new people away.

Why are you trying to change the forums? Being nice is great but I'm getting the impression you're trying to make Blockland suitable for age 5+. This is indeed the internet, the fact that our forums do have its nice and flaming moments but because we have those flaming moments makes these forums interesting and so non-boring. I think these forums are perfect the way they are.

I'm not trying to make the forums suitable for young kids, I'm just trying to encourage more people to enter our community. Have you ever thought that an amazing scripter or modeler left because they were flamed for making tiny mistakes?

Again, I get the feeling you're missing our purpose. You can flame the hell out of everyone else, sure, but just stay away from the new guys until they've been here long enough to see what can get them run out of here. If it's anyone else, although I'd rather you didn't, flame away.

I'd like to make this whole place nicer, but that's never going to work.

I doubt someone who spams emotes and cant spell will be able to script competently or have the patience to model, so no.

From your example, they didn't make tiny mistakes, they were idiots. If they shape up then we have no problem.

If you'd like to make the whole place nicer, then loving do so instead of changing your avatars and posting slogans.

Protect the newbie in distress, stand up for people, stop being a bunch of sheep with similar avatars. DO SOMETHING. You don't need a clan to glorify it, just spread good values and they will take hold.

Amazing scripters and modelers take a lot of practice to be "Amazing" and from what I know scripters and modelers are quite mature enough to handle insults.

If someone really liked the game they wouldn't leave cause the community is bad, they would play the game they love. Just like the people who love Roblox, they know their community is bad but they still play it.

I'm sorry to say but the way Badspot designed Blockland to have freedom allows people to make what ever they want, genitals, curse words, satanist things etc. I don't think this game will be 100% nice.

QFT

The only way to effectively make a forum with "nice people" only, is to have a ridiculously strict set of rules, and to ban whoever doesn't follow.

It was merely a theory.

Exactly, but they often leave before they get the chance.

You ever think that's exactly what we're doing? I don't know about you, but I haven't seen any newbies in distress lately. If I did, you bet your ass I would help out.

Again, theory.

But people who have barely played the game may not have found out how fun it can be, and they lose interest.

I feel like a parrot. "We're not trying to get rid of hatred completely, squawk".

Also, contradicting my examples isn't helping any of you. My examples are purely that; examples. We may never come across someone who fits each one, but there are a million things that can go wrong with "new member abuse".
