I'd like to quit
It's not that I disagree with you, it's that I don't want to be sucked into this drama. It's a good idea to protect the newer members. But I don't think I would be much help anyways. Sorry, guys. It just doesn't seem like it's worth it to me.

I understand.

People are just morons.

I've been thinking did we give in to the thang we where tring to stop flaming? I want to leave the clan I don't belive in giving in to any thang unless it's for a good reason. I'm dissapointed with the way this turned out. If you go back to the anti flame
I well try to join back.

Srry I'm really rebel I posted on my bros name srry.

Here's some reasons why this failed, and probably will never get off the ground from here on:

1. "White knighting" against "trolls" only makes matters worse resulting in needless drama, you gave them all the necessary advances to bait you into an argument trap; lose: lose for everyone except the "trolls". Ends up being ridiculous, "BE NICE" "NOU" seriously you shot yourself in the foot with that.

2. Bad organization, avatars aren't billboards (for a reason). The "or leave" line in the avatar is pretty much a spark for resentment.  Clan Discussion/Drama are some of the last places you'd want to consider organizing a "movement".

3. The giant heap of people jockeying for respect and attempting to gain it by insulting others is the product of the large influx of people joining in late 2008 (competition with no real gains or benefits other than inflating one's ego). This includes people fawning over long time members and posters (includes fluffing egos by knowing the "In-crowd").

4. Not many people want to affiliate themselves with newer members, the belief being if they hose up; you look bad. Why? Because of the heap of people wanting to stand out over everyone else.

5. Different maturity levels, not dependent on age per say. Basically for every single person on the forum. Enough said about that.

6.
People are just morons.
Bad judgment, not morons. Something you could probably learn for yourself.

I believe some people will still want to help new members.I would rather be insulted for trying to HELP someone, than from flaming someone.

Ronin, after reading those, I must agree with you to a certain extent.
We did take a wrong approach on making this place better.  We went around going "Be nice" and trying hard to enforce that rule to ourselves, even, but crusading the forums was a bad idea.  Notice how on other forums people aren't mean to the normal members, but they are mean to the jerks and trolls who deserve it.  Other forums have a type of inner circle, but that circle is very open.
What I'm saying is that instead of going all 'holy warrior' on everyone, we should only try and stop the flaming on those who don't deserve it, ins cases such as excess flaming, out of place flaming, and bandwagon flaming, like mentioned in that original topic.

tl;dr:
Trolls will get what they deserve, even if it is what they wanted; trolls will be trolls.
Perfectly normal members, or even those with bad spelling should be defended, because remember: a bunch of these forum goers are kids (Under 12).  If you were a little kid and someone said half the stuff to you that is being said on these forums, you would probably get very upset.
So, Regulith, I think you should revise the mission one more time to not only help the newbies out, but to help out people who really don't deserve flaming.

(And yes, this is nick, not to confuse anyone)

I actually wasn't be sarcastic when I said high five, I actually like the new cause better because I believe in it

Well the newbies need to learn on their own to a certain extent, hand holding is pretty much impossible with this community.
