My dad doesn't tolerate minecrafts graphics, when I showed him the single most awesome ass seed ever (Not glacier br0) he said "WHY IS IT ALL 8-BIT IT SHOULD BE ROUNDED" :c

Because hes a cigarette

graphics don't make a game, but good graphics can make a game more enjoyable and improve immersion; x3 terran conflict wouldn't as good if it didn't have the jaw dropping backgrounds and planets.

Minecraft has good graphics, it's just the art style.
minecraft has stuff graphics, it's just stylized so it looks less like stuff.

Minecraft looks amazing. I would go for the current Minecraft rather then that new FortressCraft stuff.

Graphics are definitely important. For example Dwarf Fortress sounds like an awesome game, but you can't play it because it looks like complete stuff. I can't play it at least. As long as the graphics are like PS2+ the game is playable, but anything below is pushing it.

No it doesn't. At least the original textures don't. Plus everything is a box. It could look so much better, but then it would probably be really hard to run. FortressCraft does look even worse, though.

fortresscraft looks like stuff because the graphics do not mesh together; it has an extremely blocky, simple world (like minecraft) but then it has a ton of shaders and high quality water that isn't blocky in the least.
if the people/person making fortresscraft took minecraft gameplay ideas and put it into a more unique format (ie actually DIGGING, red faction / celestial impact style, not removing 1m^3 blocks of dirt) it'd be a lot more interesting than minecraft, i'd say.

I find it funny people say verity when it's variety.

I love 8-bit/pixely graphic games.

To all of the morons who are hating on Minecraft graphics:

Its called art, look it up.

Maybe to some degree, but like has been said, it shouldn't make/break it.
And to be honest, I don't think that Minecraft has bad graphics.  It's rather beautiful, really.

GET ON A FLAME SUIT BOY

I find minecraft's 16-bit graphics good for the scenery to an extent. But the characters (Creepers, player, etc) look worse and more idiotic than the 5-gen Pokemon.

For me it's all about the quality of a game's graphics. For example, I think Minecraft has very good graphics. They're clean, well executed, Notch knew what he wanted to accomplish and did. There are plenty of games that I think have quality graphics even if they aren't good looking by modern definitions.

Basically it's a matter of personal preference. I'll typically judge* a game first by enjoyment, but graphics can detract from my enjoyment of a game. It's all about whether or not I think it looks good, and I think both Deus Ex and Crysis "look good".

uhh no it's supposed to look that way

bad graphics is when a game has unfinished or bad visuals minecraft fits it's theme perfectly

so does most 8bit games and 16-bit you got to compare them to their style and theme not to crysis or gta4

Anyone is plays COD isn't a gamer, they're a COD friend. A gamer is someone who plays variety of games not just 1 stupid loving game, e.g. World of Warcraft/CoD.

Graphics doesn't matter, its the enjoyment of the game itself, meaning if you enjoy having high details graphics is what you like and if you enjoy the intense gameplay you like that.
Now, I play CoD, I make montages and ect... But I also play minecraft? And TF2. So what???
