Provided you practice with your best class and have all the big weapons and buffs, you can slaughter Pumpkin Moons and begin the last wave halfway into the night. On good nights I usually survive with a 12-15 plat profit, and a few stacks of spooky wood for crafting. I personally like using ranger or melee, as the mage has taken a greater hit to its power recently.
The Pumpkin Head that drops from the Headless Horseman is a pretty neat vanity item.
