DAY Z MEGATHREAD - OP finally gets this mod.

I've been looking for a really realistic survival game for months. If the replay value on this mod is high then I'd consider getting it.

Also, I assume it's still being developed? More features ect.? I feel like this could be worth my money. I play Arma II Free occasionally too so I know the basics of the game.

Of course it's still being developed. The guy that made the mod even got a job with the developers. I heard there was going to be a DayZ gamemode or something that would be part of ArmA III.

The patch notes say melee was added.

Must be pretty difficult trying to kill a zombie.

I think I'm going to buy it. Besides I've been watching some normal Arma II videos from the same channel as the guy who did The Days Ahead and it looks really fun. I think I would play both aspects.

You should at least just get the ArmA II Demo and the DLC that is required. The models will be low quality and some things from the basic ArmA II will be missing, something like that. If you do like it - you could "upgrade" and buy the full ArmA II. At least this way if it turns out to not be your kind of thing, you wouldn't have spent too much money.

Holy shiiiit

I went into the hospital at Cherno only to find that it had been completely deprived of ANY medical supplies at all

so I lay down and server hop to a different server, right when I join I notice that the hospital windows are already broken and Im just like oh stuff, and I search the nearest box next to me is nearly empty.

Now I dont know if you guys are familiar with the Hospital in cherno, but it is across from three apartment buildings

Anyway, one of them shoots an enfield from the door and misses and I dive behind the little wall thats in the hospital and go in 3rd person and see all the zombies run and start swarming the guy, and he turns and runs back into the building.

I hear shooting for a while inside and then see a different person creep onto a balcony looking into the hospitals broken windows, and I peek around the corner and fire 3 shots from my m16 and kill him.

The other 2 then try to come out the front door and one of them has a m4a1 and he actually tried to full auto where I was but I was behind the wall, lol. Then his friend goes prone and is waiting for me to stick my head out so I just go to the other side of the wall and kill them both with 3 quick bursts.

Turns out they had all the medical supplies, and if they had only said "Friendly" from a concealed position and watched what I did instead of shooting without thinking, they would still be alive.

First playthrough made it miles into the forest and couldnt find anything. I was crawling across a road when i spotted a zombie walking straight towards me. So I just lay there assuming it would turn past. It walked right over me and started attacking me so i sprinted away, bleeding.

I sprinted for awhile before getting into a barn where I found a hatchet. I couldn't figure out how to use it so I had to glitch the zombie chasing me behind a haystack and look up on youtube how to use the hatchet. After I realised you had to right click and take it off of your toolbelt I took on the zombie in melee combat and lost pretty much all of my blood.

So I'm sitting here almost dead after bandaging my wound, my vision completely forgeted up and someone walks up the stairs and says "friendly?" at this point I just want to start again and he asks if he can kill me for my hatchet and I give in (Like I had a choice anyway) so I died for the greater good of another survivor.

I had no idea how to get blood back anyway so it was just easier to die there.

Where the heck did you find an axe? I saw one in a log, but it didn't give me the option to grab it.
