okay, i get the point! thanks.

anyways, do you think my graphics card is powerful enough to be able to run shadows, spreads? even though it's not high-end? my lame-o windows XP desktop with junk graphics card can run shadows on high with no problem or FPS drop, yet my gaming laptop which is supposed to be far more powerful can't even run it!

Hate to say it, but yeah, laptop's the problem in this case.  Any time you've got an integrated chipset, you run the risk of the motherboard manufacturer getting a "custom" die with some features borked for the sake of "power saving."  Even if it isn't, some of the OEMs force you to use a custom driver- I got lucky with jailbreaking my Toshiba when I got fed up with them putting out no driver updates to my IGP since 2010.  Of course, dropping an extra 6GB of RAM also helped ease some shared memory bottlenecks, too. ;)

can you please be more specific?

so the reason why I can't run shadows is only because I have a laptop? seriously, come on.

My laptop can run shaders on Max, what are you guys talking about?
