What is a good first car for somebody who wants to get into tuning, but also doesn't have a whole bunch of money?

A little unrelated: I think electric car manufacturers need to focus less on 0-60 times, and more on bringing a product to the mass market. Not everybody has $100,000+ to spend on an electric vehicle, and making EVs cheaper would also make charging stations more widely available.

The main issue with bringing electric cars to the mass market are the lack of city power structure to actually withstand too many electric cars. And moreso, the capacity and weight of the battery to keep the charge.

Some cities can't stand everyone's AC on 18C. Imagine adding electric cars to that weak powergrid.

dont forget battery technology needs to improve greatly (like the glass batteries) to make the cars have much better longevity and convenience

---update on the galaxie I like that I cant afford yet---

the car's a california car that's been sitting in pennsylvania for 2 years. needs new top, engine and interior. since my family is really the only ones who know where it is, I have a good shot at getting it when the time comes. currently have about $2,200 and still going up because I get paid for taking trash out and taking dogs outside.

picture from last year

new pictures, uploaded straight from phone

I always had a thing for full-sized mid 60's American cars. I'm a bit concerned about the torn convertible hood, the elements haven't been to kind to the interior

I noticed that last year, before I even took a picture of it. If I get it, I'm replacing it.
