because the dorito pope is one of the only people NOT saying that all gamers are misogynists
also doritosgate kinda ties up with gamergate

Wasn't it the original scandal involving IGN and promotional stuff they were doing, such as the Mountain Dew and Doritos stuff?

fair point

still, they haven't had anything to do with #gamerb8

This is a positive movement even for the pro-gamergate people. The people making death threats and releasing dox's on people are not helping anything and just hurt the image of gamers. IGN made the right move by posting this article.

so, the roundup is:
girl forgeted five guys, ordered some burger and fries for a good game review (or two)(or five with some fries on the side)
4chan(or another place) explodes, tumblr attacks them
#gamergate is born
zoe quinn sits and eats her burger and fries
???
profit

i dun get it
like, there's definetly more to this than a girl doing prostitution for metascore right
it wasn't even a review, the guy she banged didn't even really mention her game.

Personally, the worst part for me is the game itself, since it's not a game, not good in any respect and is possibly the WORST way you could get anybody aware of depression.

Agreed.

I agree with Totalbiscut's definition of a "game" which, if I remember correctly, meant a game actually had a "lose" state, and as far as I know, this game has nothing like that. It's just a glorified digital novel.

I did enjoy that video he made, but I don't think a lose state is the be-all-and-end-all.

What it needs, based on my list of objective and subjective qualities of a video game, is challenge. A fail state is a type of challenge, but there are many others. That's why LucasArts'/Telltale Games' point-and-clicks (with exception to a couple titles) can be classified as games, even though you can't technically die.

tl;dr Game needs to have challenge to be called a game, failure state (death) is just one type of challenge, but not the main or only one

Don't forget Animal Crossing and other life-sim games!

*guys
and yes, they mentioned her game a lot. And defended her when she was "attacked".

did you even read the loving articles the whole thing started over? the reviewer only mentioned her once and that was 4 loving months before the alleged start of the affair.
