Gamergate: Against the lying and corruption the media industry. You believe that Zoey Quinn's actions of cheating and destroying a good charity were wrong.

Antigamergate: Gamers are misogynists, gamergate is about misogyny. Depression quest is a video game.

this automatically makes them all wrong

and then when counterpoints are raised

Nah I've just been observing. I have repeated myself enough times and any sign of mutual understanding usually gets erroded away in under thirty minutes by people posting twitters of morons/trolls who think saying "kill all gamers" is somehow conducive to the debate.
And then further aligning my views with these morons when my main goal is the equality, security, and equal representation of everyone.

Or I become frustrated and give into the abrasive attitude that is so present in this thread, resulting in my annoyingly posting trivial content that any other moron would be looked over for but because I am against the general view of the people in this thread, I will probably be continually mocked now and any further discussion rendered moot.

Ok this was the thing that was confusing

"Gamergate" seems like the people who are involved specifically with the corruption and stuff and Antigamergate sounds like the people against it. But what the hell do I know?

The people who support the gamergate movement are for the idea of equality and transparency in journalism. They do not believe developers should be given special treatment from the journalists, nor should the journalists be given special treatment from the publishers. Such a system is not conducive to accuracy in reporting.

The people who are against the gamergate movement feel that the tactics used in support of the movement are unfairly antagonistic towards women in the games industry. There has been a long trend towards the subversion and silencing of females in the entertainment industry, and as recent threats have been usually targeted towards those who purport feministic ideals in the production environment.

The people who support the gamergate movement however also feel the conversation is being unfairly directed towards these feminist issues, and is in effect silencing their struggle. This unfortunate opinion was further cemented after various websites decided to ban discussion on the topic as opposed to allowing the issues present to be discussed. These websites at the same time felt they were targeted by gamergate and would likely have supported the feminist movement they saw as the enemies to their enemies at that time. The fact that one feminist ideal is the equal representation of women in games as they expand into the public plane also leads the gamergate population to feel fear over their alteration of their preffered pasttime and in what they view is just another form of censorship.

The people against the gamergate movement have as well unfortunately responded with hostility, as many of the attacks on the conversationalists target those with feministic ideals, even unrelated to the gaming or journalistic industry. In fact when the situation started, while people purported the signifigance of journalism, the attacks focused on a game developer, one whose game was not even rated by the journalist she supposedly attempted to accquire special treatment from. That soon after threats were levied on any supporters of this lady also further defined the potential loveist implications of the public response.

This unfortunately and effectively entangled and put at odds these two very important discussions.

Thanks Ladios
That's a pretty damn good summary.

I try to stay out of gamergate, but Zoey Queef and her white knights need to seriously smarten up.

But that would take effort.

Ok you have to be trolling at this point.
Comments and insults like this are not conducive to settling this discussion.

Saying you are trying to stay out of it and then continuing the spew of hatred involved in it, is not staying out of it.
