A bouncy, discolored, and loud MiG tales the formation.

My opener is to lock up a Viggen, and launch and RGM. I have my mind set on finishing this fight before my caffeine high wears off and I have to down another energy drink to stay awake.

The Saab hears the missile incoming and hits his afterburners, dumping chaff. The RGM detonates anyways, knocking the pilot slightly off-course and delivering at least light damage. The plane and one other breaks off to engage.

I lock on to one of the Jaguars with a heatseeker and fire away.

The aircraft, dedicated to its flight path, dumps flares and tries to keep going. Fortunately, your missile went to college and is too smart to be fooled by that song and dance, and slams straight into the rear end of the Jaguar anyways. The pilot ejects, the debris and what remains are left of his aircraft raining down onto the city.

: What the hell is- OH loving stuff TOO CLOSE!

Bell breaks off to gain some altitude and locks on to two of the Jaguars with radar missiles, while spoofing a lock on a third. She fires the RGMs, staying back to keep the missiles locked onto the Jaguars within the boresight of her targeting radar. It was likely that they would deploy countermeasures if they were competent, but she hoped that the missiles would help drive them off long enough for her to get into a better position to engage the enemy at a closer range.

The other two Jaguars, having seen how simply dumping countermeasures goes, dump chaff and break off in opposite directions. Unable to hit the defensive line, they attempt to wheel around to get a better angle of attack. A Viggen breaks off to pursue.

I dive on the other Jaguars, firing my cannon and gunpod at one, locking and dropping a JSM followed by a hefty burst from my 30mm at another.

The first Jaguar, not maneuverable enough to swiftly evade, gets hit with the AC/5 a few times before the UAC/2 puts a nice firm hole through the fuselage. The two guns feel substantially different when fired, the AC/5 simply being a slight push with each shot, and the UAC/2's burst of three making you feel like the beads in a toddler's rattle. The other Jaguar, able to react on time, drops some flares and breaks off from its engagement. The last Saab 37, taking advantage of your same lack of maneuverability, begins to pursue.

Enemy forces:
SEPECAT Jaguar - 3x
Saab 37 Viggen - 4x

Faw takes a devious glance at one of the janky motherforgeters in a Jaguar and lets loose with his Rotary Cannon.

I spray another Jaguar with all the flak guns on my plane, then turn, banking left, and fire off a heatseeker at another Jaguar.

Bell locks onto the fighter pursuing Junkers with a HSM and fires it off before pitching her aircraft into a steep climb. She hits the afterburners to make up some of the speed the plane lost and loops back down, hopefully shaking off the fighter pursuing her.

I fire my coaxial autocannon at the Jaguar that evaded my missile, followed yet again by the force of the UAC/2. Then I hit the air brakes and do a barrel roll in an attempt to make the tailing Saab do something rash.

One of my hands is sitting next to the button that deploys flares, ready to confuse a missile from the Saab.

Faw takes a devious glance at one of the janky motherforgeters in a Jaguar and lets loose with his Rotary Cannon.

The Jaguar breaks right, screeching its way past your rounds and back on a path to hit the ground defenses.

I spray another Jaguar with all the flak guns on my plane, then turn, banking left, and fire off a heatseeker at another Jaguar.

The twin flak guns send clouds of smoke and shrapnel into the Jaguar's front, back, left, right, up, down, and all around. If the damage to the actual structure of the aircraft wasn't enough, the shrapnel in the air intakes break the engines, and the aircraft bleeds speed until it drops out of the air. The heatseeker, on the other hand, is evaded easily, and on top of that, the Jaguar has slipped behind you! A JSM streaks from a pylon on its wing, and you're treated to the dual AC/5 special, tracers streaking past your roosterpit.

Bell locks onto the fighter pursuing Junkers with a HSM and fires it off before pitching her aircraft into a steep climb. She hits the afterburners to make up some of the speed the plane lost and loops back down, hopefully shaking off the fighter pursuing her.

A series of flares bursts from the Viggen, and a simple roll is all it needs to evade the missile, continuing on its course.

The UAC/2 misses straight-out, the shots flying past the agile-enough Jaguar. In addition, a notification pops up on your HUD.
[STRESS DAMAGE]
At least your AC/5 manages to hit, the rounds gently peppering the airframe like a mild steak. The barrel roll, while it doesn't send you into a stall immediately, is not something your aircraft is appreciating after the abuse the UAC/2 gave it, and as such is executed slower than one would like. The Saab fires an HSM anyways, sending some RAC/10 fire your way.

"forget."
I drop chaff and break off, turning hard left and hoping the wings don't snap off, then punch the afterburners and fire a missile and some flak at a Viggen.

I keep my air brakes deployed as I deploy flares, lock and fire a JSM at the lightly damaged Jaguar plus more AC-5 fire towards it, and then I dive hard to evade the RAC-10 fire.

I take note that the Saab hasn't deployed its own air brakes yet and at this rate it'll overshoot.

Bell breaks towards the Viggen that is chasing Junkers until her sights are lined up onto the side of the aircraft, using the momentum from the loop's dive to close the distance between her and the fighter. She fires her cannon and an AAM at the Saab.

Faw sighs and preps to throw another burst of high-explosive "forget you" 20mm rounds at the Jaguar, before noticing that his exact loving line of fire would make him hit the defence line himself. Due to the fact he's not a moron (a rarity in this military) he determines that shooting friendly forces is something that you generally don't want to do. He flicks a switch and fires a Heatseeker missile right at the tail-end of the Jaguar, sending a 10 foot steel pipe of "stuff that makes a big boom" towards the enemy jet pulling up to shoot the defensive line.

You realize your mistake too late, the JSM being a heatseeker instead of radar-guided, and it detonates behind you. Your airframe shakes, but you manage to pull away without being hit by either of the AC/5s. The Viggen you pursue, on the other hand, is hit by literally everything you throw at it. The Saab 37 promptly lodges itself into the ground behind the defensive line.

The Jaguar evades your JSM and the AC/5 fire through a combination of skill, wind, and sheer piss luck.

: [You shoot like old folk forget.]

And with that insult, you notice that your airspeed has dropped considerably. You were right, the Viggen is going to overshoot, but not before laying into you with its RAC/10.

The Viggen pursuing Junkers pulls up as it overshoots, a few shots plinking the rear end of it, the AAM following suit, detonating a several meters to the aft of the plane. The Viggen keeps going, but not after Junkers.

The 10 foot steel pipe of boom delivers the message quite clearly.

Enemy Forces:
SEPECAT Jaguar - 1x
Saab 37 Viggen - 3x

Faw takes a 10-second cooldown to make sense of the situation around him. He mutters to himself the details of the battle around him like a crazy person recounting the names of all the cats he's accidentally starved to death over the years.

"Less than a half dozen Jaguars left... almost done here."

"That jet is trying to brown townly violate Junkers... what a stuffty guy."

Faw banks to the right and sets his sights on the Viggen tailing Junkers and lets loose a Heatseeker missile.

I lock on to the last Jaguar with a heatseeker and spray it with a bit of flak before breaking off to spray a Viggen with some more flak, and my last heatseeker.

I close my air brakes, deploy flaps and hit the afterburner, continuing to pursue the apparently pompous Jaguar. Yet again I fire my AC/5 at it, holding the trigger until a temperature warning pops up on my HUD.

"[Hold the insults for when you're winning the battle.]"
