I quickly fire a JSM, disable AoA and yank the stick. Hopefully the plume of exhaust gas will throw off the missile.
The missile blows the drone's wing off. It is attempting in vain to retain its altitude, but it is headed for the ground in a hurry.

Once AWACS directs me to the threat, I punch the burners and fly straight in, firing an HSM at one drone and an AAM at another.
The HSM is evaded but the AAM hits its mark, finishing off the lightly damaged drone.

I fire an RGM at the drone I sprayed with flak, then punch the afterburners.
The drone escapes the radar cone, and the missile loses its lock.

Bell fires her last JSM at the other drone chasing Mbombe.
You destroy its rear stabilizers, allowing Mbombe to shake it off. It is now a sitting duck for gun attacks.

"What do you mean there's something 'cloaked' there," I ask.

The heatseeker misses and detonates. The engines do not seem to appreciate it.

I roll the plane into its back and turn around. There is a struggling drone there. I neglect getting the radar to track it and fire at it anyway. I pull back up and reengage the AoA limiter.

"If you think that something is there, just lob a few rockets at it."

Bell fires off a burst of cannon fire at the severely damaged UAV she hit earlier.

Seeing that the HSM missed, I agressively turn into that drone's plane of motion, obtain a gun solution and fire volleys of cannon rounds at my target.

I circle and try to hit the intact drone with gunfire.

I'm assuming you're shooting guns because you wouldn't hit it with the missile without a lock. Anyway, it dies. Can't evade very well when you don't have a wing.

It feebly attempts to evade, but doesn't seem aware of its lack of tailfins. It also goes down.

It fires a missile moments before its own destruction.

I circle and try to hit the intact drone with gunfire.
Despite its heavy damage, it still manages to cling to life for just a while longer and evade your gunfire.

Another cruise missile comes out of the clouds and makes it through the point defense, striking the carrier straight-on. Fortunately, nothing critical was destroyed, but one of the secondary bridges was heavily damaged.

Can the AWACS or the CIC of one of the airfleet ships use the radar data from the squadron's planes to estimate the launch position of the cruise missiles?

No, but Mbombe can tell you the general area of where it is. (It's in that suspicious cloud formation that has been keeping up with your carriers this whole time).

"Hey Mbombe, you know that thing you saw earlier? I want you to fire some rockets at it, you can take that as an order or as a request, I don't really care but I don't think anybody wants to fly back to McNamara."

"Pilot where did you see those missiles coming from? What heading? Respond. That's an order,"

My radio crackles and gets choppy a bit as I speak. "The cloud is the thing. At least, it's cloaking it or something. It's kinda obvious now, seeing as that cloud formation has been keeping up with the carrier."

"Who's got rocket pods...? Junkers- Junkers see if you can't fire those pods into the cloud that Mbombe is talking about," I say.

I look for the suspicious cloud by manuvering and keeping the carrier in the same frame of reference as the cloud I'm checking against. I can't see any cloud that has matched velocities with the carrier.

Right before I bag the drone, the missile warning tone buzzes, and I see a trail of smoke forming before me.

"stuff." I pull back on the power lever, drop flares and swerve downwards as the missile gets close.

Bell moves in closer to the supposed cloud formation and checks her doppler weather radar and fires a burst of cannon rounds at it.
