Cualli blinks. "I was thinking more like, first thing you'd do once we touch down and get to go on leave. Like, celebrating and stuff," she says. "But you've got my interest. What kind of robotics research do you want to do?"

Walter sighs and looks away from his book again to make eye contact with a bored face

"That's the point, I've already been told what I did was wrong. What's done is done, what are you even here for? to send me to the gym as punishment? I wouldn't mind that right about now."

"Punishment will be decided on later. What the forget possessed you to drink right now?"

"Punishment will be decided on later. What the forget possessed you to drink right now?"

"Again, do I look drunk? I had a drink to give myself some lax, I'm not some binge drinking monkey looking to get smashed. Might get shot down tomorrow, would be nice to have something a little nicer than the rest of the food on here before then."

Jaakko listens. His harsh expression eases some.

"I still don't believe it was a good idea to drink at all considering how close we are to the front. At least you have control of yourself. Did Virvel make herself useless?" He asks, his tone less vicious than before, but still stern.

"She had a bit more but I also don't know how she holds."

Jaakko nods.

"Well, just make sure you're ready for the sortie,"

"alright."

Walter heads back to reading his book

Tippy, who is still present with Jaakko pretends to look at her nonexistent watch.

"Also I'm here by the way. So, yeah, don't get too buzzed, we still need you.."

She turns to Jaakko and whispers sarcastically

"Why am i here again"

Jaakko turns to Tippy and gives her a concise but excellent justification for his actions and Tippy immediately understands why he made the decision he did.

Hours pass, the rendezvous with and resupply from the Kintharian submarine is successful, and after everyone's had their brief rest the technicians are proud to announce what was on the shipment.
: While you guys were sleeping we installed new flight computers on the Wyvern. Now it's got its own built-in drone uplink, limited evasive autopilot,is more hardened towards EMPs...  you know, just in case. Drones came with it of course, they're ready to fly whenever you are. We also brought some energy weapons on board; a particle cannon, EMP lance, and a beam laser, but that's not as interesting.

The report from the KZG engineers is followed up by Bell and Jaakko being called in for a brief meeting with Vicemarshal Lawniczak.
: We're only four hours out from rendezvousing with the rest of the fleet, but I don't like the idea of flying over Imperial seas with only one cruiser as escort. Get ready to sortie, you'll be briefed in the roosterpit. That means you too, Colonel.

Walter stands near the skepna and views over the plasma cannon. He checks over the mstar fishcript for his equipment to ensure both heatsinks have been loaded and connected this time around, rather than the LAMS. He looks at his legs as a quick reflection then places the mstar fishcript back down to wait for launch.

As you set down the paperwork, you hear a muffled explosion and feel the floor shake beneath your feet. Before you can even ask yourself what's happening, the Tordenskjold begins listing a few degrees to port and you have to brace yourself against the Skepna to avoid losing your balance entirely. Alarms blare, and an announcement comes over the PA for damage control teams to report to the number one engine room and for pilots to prepare for emergency takeoff.

Cualli, in the hangar working on prepping planes for takeoff, puts a hand on Elu to steady herself as she feels the carrier begin to tilt. "Seems like we're in for a rough trip," she comments, hearing the normal sounds of the hangar rise to a clamor as the sirens begin blaring and the crew begin working with a sense of urgency.

Walter snatches his helmet that fell off a nearby crate and then clambers into the skepna's roosterpit while he taps into communications to figure out whats going on.

Markus scrambles to put his flight gear on and begins sprinting to his Corsair, grabbing his helmet before he leaves.
"[stuff, stuff, stuff, stuff, stuff!]"
He stumbles over his own feet on his way to the Corsair. He picks himself up and steadies himself before throwing his helmet on and climbing into the roosterpit. He turns on his roosterpit radio to figure out what's happening.

: Are we being attacked?

As your planes are towed into the elevator, you try to communicate with the CIC to find out what's happening. They tell you to wait and stress that you don't clog the channels with requests as to what's going on, and it's not until you're being rolled out onto the launch deck that you get a response.
: There was an explosion in our port fission reactor, we're losing output from number one and two engines. Damage control teams are assessing the situation and have already evacuated the engine block of all nonessential crew after finding a radiation leak.
