Thing is... Many still get the issue, but under 256k :s
that's troubling

Part of the issue is what you set the limit to.
Make it a lower limit and you'll be able to build more before crashing.

That's... not how that works. The limit is just a soft cap that says you can't place more than X bricks; the problem being described here is that people are hitting a memory cap and crashing the game, whether it's that they hit what seems to be a 32bit memory cap, or just run out of memory on their own and crash the game.

Halving the limit will half the size of the ghosting tables in memory, so he's not wrong. However, it's not a solution.

"hey! you can now build with 1 million bricks!"
"its not working!"
"try building less bricks!"

Badspot has said in the past that the number of bricks that can be displayed is limited by VRAM and other factors, when using vertex buffer objects. If you disable them (in the advanced options), it's no longer limited by those things. That's the issue you were experiencing, I'm pretty sure, Zeblote.

minor annoyance

the hammer doesn't work with the minigame system

It's only using 2 of 6gb vram, there should be no problem.

As in? It won't destroy bricks, or won't damage on hit?

Haven't experienced any of those issues.

as in doesn't even work as an equippable item

So... surely those "other factors" can be fixed?
I don't know what the other factors are. Just try it out, seriously.

Still, going down to 524288 is better than crashing before 250k.
