I evolved my first 1000+cp pokemon. Had a very powerful eevie to evolve and got a flareon out of it with like 1070 or something.

And when you do this make sure to have 70 or more evolutions to do so maximize the time. I got through 63 in the half hour and had a few new pokedex entries so that wasted a little time.
