The elder waits until Douzheng's gaze once again meets his, then speaks, placing his palm on his chest, saying "Zaluk" and then extends a flat palm to Douzheng. Douzheng can see that the man's face is covered in scars, minor, major and imbetween.

Väinö is led for some time through a forest, traveling uphill for a long time. The hunters are kind enough to introduce themselves. The leader of the group introduces himself as Loszeck. His brother, in the band with them is called Vinua, and another companion in the band is named Tavitu. They eventually take him over some miles of plains and past some fields of freshly-tilled earth to a place which they call Khalimi. There is a single dirt street leading from the end through which he entered to another side, out of view in the chilly, cloudy night. Most of the torches are out. Tavitu leads you away from the main group that continues towards the center of town, to a small house with wood and plaster walls and a thatched roof. "Väinö, [unknown] stay here for the [unknown]." He opens the door for you and shows you inside of the one-roomed house. There is a giant pile of dry straw piled against the opposing wall. He nods, beckoning you to rest.

Iada responds worriedly, "I'm sorry, Eetu asked that I stay to keep watch in case . . . !! Anyways, breakfast will be served an hour after daybreak." He leads you back down to the same cellar, opening the door ahead of you. Theric, upon looking at the cot which he slept on before, it had been set up with new, clean blankets. He nods and forces an awkward smile before shutting the door, leaving only the light of the torches of the hallway through the crack in the top and bottom of the door and a lit, standing brazier nearby to the bed. The beer barrels from earlier are stacked against a wall with some crates. Thanks to this piece, the room isn't as cold as outside.

Will upload updated map when the hosting site is not overwhelmed by other site traffic.

As the elder - now presumably named Zaluk - extends his hand towards Douzheng for a response, Douzheng hesitates- while certainly experienced with being thrown into a drastically foreign land, he'd never done it as a free individual. Zaluk seeks Douzheng's name - the foreigner is now seen as an individual, rather than property. Not one of his slavers had asked him his name. Famulus was simply the last designation he'd been given. This time, though, things are different.

"Douzheng".

"In case, huh?" The word has a growl coming from the tired Theric, his eyes thinning as he stares down at Iada. There's a sniffle, and he nods. "If you could, wake me up a while before breakfast." he says, like an order. Then Theric is heading back into the cellar, glancing around... Yup, looks pretty much like the same.

Theric simply stares at Iada until he shuts the door, and then he's looking around. Not bothering to shed his clothes, Theric wanders over to set his things down to lie down onto the cot. It'll keep him warmer this way... And with his thoughts drifting away into nothing from exhaustion, he lets himself fall asleep.

"Douzheng," Zaluk addresses him, attempting to make use of hand motions to demonstrate, pointing to the moon, making a sleeping motion and making an inviting gesture towards the larger house behind him. Douzheng notices that the crowd of onlookers has thinned out considerably, some of them walking back into town as he tries to demonstrate. The elder himself yawns and nearly loses his balance falling asleep where he stands as a guard makes a move, ready to catch him. Zaluk regains his balance however.

"Yes sir," Iada replies timidly. The boy makes a simple bow before heading back down the halls and leaving for his own quarters.

"This'd be day two.  Fine if I sit?  It's cold."

"Yes. . .Please." Yana relaxes and sits back down, trying not to show she had a knife behind her back. Aif notices an opening near the front where Yana had been standing.

Douzheng follows the elder towards the house.

Aif enters and squats opposite the fire from Yana, holding his hands close to the fire.  As he enters, he notices that Yana is holding something, but decides not to say anything about it.  "There were potatoes back the way I came; very filling."

Douzheng is led into the house and is shown by one of the master's servants, Dalkaa, into a room on the first floor that is specifically recessed into the foundation. It seems to serve as a sort of storage room. In it is a few mats heaped near the door, a couple of barrels and a few boxes up against the walls and a servant girl is trying to stoke a furnace on the opposing wall from the mats. Dalkaa seems to be lingering in the hallway.

Yana jolts, bobbing her head and blinking her eyes, "I- I uh, sorry. I've been up since before dawn. You—you haven't seen any other man, on the land who also speaks this tongue, have you?" Aif can see the woman is perhaps equally between mild distress and tiredness.

Douzheng bows, and is about to sit on the mats, before he pauses and turns to face Dalkaa.

How do they thank one another?

"Dalka?", he says, attempting to prompt some level of verbal communication, before he bows - with one hand, meanwhile, pointing towards himself from an extended arm's view. After bowing, he shrugs with a puzzled, inquisitive look on his face. He then puts his hands together and nods before shrugging once more.  He tries his best to avoid making it look like he's requesting thanks.

Dalka coms back from around the hallway and looks at Douzheng with a confused expression, asking, "[unknown]? . . . [unkno–]He cuts himself short, finally responding, "Oh" making a gesture of two fingers from in front of his mouth to Douzheng, "Thank you." Dalka nods and smiles awkwardly at Douzheng as the servant girl gets up from starting the fire and passing Dalka by. As he takes hold of the door handle, he again makes the same motion with his other hand, and says something that Douzheng can only interpret as "Good night", before he nods and smiles again, shutting the door and leaving Douzheng with only the light of the small fireplace across the room, the light of the moon filtered through a mostly cloudy sky, and the ever-fading light of the candle which Dalka carried, accompanied by the footsteps that brought its departure.

Douzheng uses his newfound knowledge to thank Dalka as he leaves. Soon after, he finds himself staring intently into the fireplace as he drifts to sleep.

The sun rises over the land, and signs of life begin to emerge as the birds and animals of the forest begin their calls of the day, and in the towns, the people begin to stir to get on with the activities of the day.

Theric finds himself in his conquest of Kaubern with all its treasures and luxuries, and its hardships. Finally, he approaches the mighty doors of Konsanitum, as the locals of that region called it. After many months, he is outside with his brothers in blood and arms holding a stone pillar, charging over the area outside to breach the gate. A rain of arrows are falling around him from atop the great wall. The column rams into the great door with a resounding crash, followed by three odd repercussions as the column bounces. They draw back and charge again, this time with the same result, only the repercussions seem to be coming from all around him. "Theric? Theric, are you awake?" Theric comes to realize that he was not at the gates of Konsanitum but rather the cellar of some town elder in a foreign land some unknown distance from the land he once was. Iada calls once again, requesting that you come for breakfast before he walks back down the hall.

Douzheng wakes atop a stack of mats in a smoke-filled cellar. The fireplace across from him has only dim red embers and black burned wood. Dalka is outside the cellar knocking on the door, and seems to be asking questions.

Väinö wakes in the early morning all itchy from the mildly dank pile of hay in which he slept the night before. After he has a chance to gain his bearings, Vinua and Tavitu arrive, opening the door without warning. They seem to be issuing an order to you in a neutral but stern voice and beckon you to come with them.

Yana wakes with a start and nearly lets out a scream as she finds there is a man sleeping near her, but calms down in more seconds as she realizes that is only Aif, who was suddenly awoken by Yana's stirring. The tent-frame has hld up through he night, and the embers of the fire are still orange.

Prior to Yana drifting off, Aif expresses that she's the first person he's encountered, though he suspected others were here at some point because he found the sword he carries, though she seems to have dropped off before he finished speaking.  He takes a minute to look around from where he's sitting and take stock of the hut before lying down opposite the fire from Yana.

At Yana's scream the next morning, Aif bolts up, lashing out before he's aware of himself, hitting nothing, then strikes a defensive stance, fists ready.  "What's happening?!" he shouts in his native proto-Celtic, then, remembering Yana, in their shared tongue, "What's happening?!  Are you hurt?!"  Aif's body aches from the exhaustion of yesterday's travels paired with its comparatively meager food and water rations, and the sudden jump to an upright position makes his head swim before he half stumbles half takes a knee to the area he slept.

Douzheng, recalling the past night's events, opens the door for Dalka.
